Where this game fails (feedback)

So here is another player feedback that you all can just ignore and then watch your game go to HAMSTER in a few months. Anyhow I think its got some potential so I will at least waste my time and probably inform you of things that have already been said 10,000x that you wont listen to anyhow.

#1 gem prices are way too much for stupid things. For example changing the look of a weapon it asked me for 60k, lol. - your currency system does not cater much to the free player base and that's going to hurt in the long run. I understand about making cash but you need to balance it better, and a good place to start is with non essential things. even little things like letting players buy scrolls with gold at lower levels.

#2 the idiot channel, I mean the admin channel with its garbage spam. This is the worst idea I ever seen a game company come up with. Ok so you want to spam noobs with that garbage, that is fine, but give players the option to turn it off. I imagine the person who came up with this idiotic idea dont actually spend much time playing your game. How many times do I want a notification in the middle of my screen that someone got a horse mount? seriously?! another game killer here.

#3 lack of end game, all this zen and gems, and your end game is what? raiding dungeons and playing mini games? How long do you think this will actually keep your player base?

I could offer some suggestions, but it would all be wasted time on my part. Just as writing this is all going to go over all the devs and designers heads. This has all been said before but once again you are not going to listen to the players, thinking you suit wearing fools know what makes a game good. I have played just about every mmo out there, starting way back with the text games. And I see this going the same way as SWTOR's failure. It was a good time waster for about two weeks for me, and the foundry editor is probably the gem of this game, but its not enough to hold a big mmo crowd for long.

This is all my opinion, if you are some zen buying fool who has been sucked into this garbage then there is no point for you to even reply. If you enjoy the game that is all that matters. Its got a great engine and has a lot of potential, but seeing how this is rolling out, I think its pretty easy for me to say that it is total end game failure.

The sorry thing is that by the team gets a clue and actually listens to the players in regards to these matters it will be far too late because the damage to your player base will have already been done. You will see a spike in success, but just realize this will be fading fast.

As we all know Neverwinter (NW) is basically Star Trek Online (STO) with new graphics. And in STO you had the annoying notifications spam every second (when someone got a new ship, opened a box, bought dilithium) Everyone yelled about getting an 'off' button for this but to no avail. PW thinks that if you see someone else got something that you just HAVE to have it to! (even though after you have it you still see the annoying spam)

Well, if they did something decent with the Foundry, you would have plenty of end-game content. Right now, you can't even place a decent boss creature in a UGC mission.

I hoped in STO they would see the Foundry as the gem and do something with it. Nadda..I don't hold much hope for the Foundry being worked on and upgraded here either. If they put some real work into the foundry, this game would be around forever.

I don't think we "all know" that, for many of us this is our first PW game we came around because it was an official D&D game.

And I might add first and last PW game.

Although you do sound a bit angry (more flies with honey remember) I do have to agree with you. My biggest gripe with the game is with the 'artificial' boss difficulty (ie; spawning hundreds of adds = challenge). The rest of the game is quite fun, but I've come to dread boss fights.

I'm at the point where I've stopped doing the 'official' content such as quests and dungeons, cause I just can't bear any more. So for now, I'm looking at the Foundry missions to save the game, but as Foundrymaker said, I don't hold out much hope there either.

    My concern is the longevity.

You can get to 60 in a few days, founders already have enough diamonds to buy the T2 armour set without actually setting foot in the dungeon, PVP gear at 60 takes a night at most to get.

I know lots of people who are already on their second character and the 1-60 lvl path is the same (espcially as they nerfed their own baby; the Foundry).

In the old Everquest, you'd barely have left the starter zone(s) by now but there would have been starter areas for each race.

In WoW, there would still be multiple levelling paths.

To me, it's like watching movie that you've already seen; whilst you do enjoy it the first time, each time you watch it the interest dwindles slightly.

That sound pretty strong for someone who foolishly spent $60 on a beta. 'Some' of us have been playing MMO's for decades. I was in STO when Cryptic was Cryptic, before they were bought by Atari who then flogged them off to PW because they (Atari) screwed up the games so much, had to shift them to F2P because no one thought a $15 sub was worth it.

I have NEVER liked PW and the way theu run things, alienating the very people that are giving them the money and this is the main reason I see no future for the Foundry (mores the pity) or the game. The STO Foundry (which was the testbed for NW) was stated by PW as 'useless' when they purchased Cryptic 'because it didn't make money'. They did not have the vision that if they made the STO/NW Foundry great and functional that they would keep more customers and not have to spend a shirt load of money on new content.

Well, they have well and truly screwed that. It will be interesting to see if NW is still here a year from now, if the fan base lasts that long. If the Foundry Authours abandon NW its screwed. Much new Content=Many more Players and possibly more money for PW. But they don't seem to see it this way.

Only time will tell...but the past is a good indication

I have been playing MMO's and games pretty much since home computers were invented (I'm 48) so....

This is my first f2p though and the ONLY reason I even wanted to try this game in the first place is because it's D&D and more specifically set in the Forgotten Realms setting.

I don't really mind that I spent money on the founders pack, I think I've gotten my moneys worth so it's all good.

But overall I just don't really see this game going anywhere.

LOL OMG and FYI, Guild Wars (for example) has 4 campaigns. Prophesies you kill a lich and stop the end of the world. Factions you fight a plague of zombies caused by a ghost and save the Emperor. Nightfall you fight epic battles against minor demons to save the world from the demon Abbadon. Eye of the North you befriend an old foe an join forces to take down the Destroyers. Every single one has a beginning, middle, and end with many cut scenes. How can you say that? Do you live under a rock?

BTW I haven't played this game much, I found it too generic and bland for my tastes. Might as well play Jade Dynasty in my opinion. Cryptic has improved STO somewhat but not all that much. I enjoy Champions Online the most out of the PWE games.

Do you not raid dungeons to do those things?

This was hard to read because you have a snotty little tone through out. Maybe if you didn't act like such a raging prick and actually tried to help with a decent manner, I would have read it all.

I don't know what "Gems" are, I'm assuming you mean enchantments? Yes, the price to remove enchantments is ****ing horrible. No one, and I seriously mean no one, can afford to remove enchants at 60. It's absurd and should change.

I didn't read anymore after that. This community is really starting to suck.

I was always a little worried about free to play since it encourages big spenders. I am willing to spend money on a game that I enjoy, but the AD, Zen, Gold system is a little over bearing for me. I don't just throw money around, and this game caters to whales that don't care how much money they spend.

I haven't played WOW in a few years, and was raised on original everquest. I think all these years since EQ I have been searching for that same type of awe and danger from a game and it doesn't look like such a game will ever be made again. I liked that everyone for the most part was one equal footing with a monthly fee. These free to play games are not that way at all.

Instances ruined MMO's. I actually loved mobs that pursued you until you zoned. I loved dungeon madness, like trains, and fighting over spawns. I loved running for my life, only to be blocked at the zone by a ogre. That type of stuff would get your heart racing, but those days are long gone thanks to the carebears. It's too bad really.
