I cannot for the life of me work out, or find in a manual, how to set default behaviours for npcs.
How do I, for example, get an NPC to lean against a wall by default? I can set him to lean against the wall once I talk to him, but where I expect to find this option, "stance" in the costume design area, instead has a list of mob types that generally makes the npc float or do other silly things. How can I apply one of the behaviours you get an an option in "contact" to instead be the action/stance the NPC uses by default, or loops in the case of some actions?

In the Map View (2D) Click on Detail. Place an NPC from the list or click on an existing NPC in your map. This will open the Properties for that NPC. Under the Behavior properties click "Show Parameters" The Animation button will allow you to set the various animations for that NPC. For instance to have an NPC, with no dialogue or interaction lean against a wall you would select the Animation "Leaning, wall" of course placing the NPC close enough to a wall to give the desired effect. There are many animations, including patrolling, following, etc.
Encounters (monster groups) work in a similar fashion except you change the parameters in the Layout view, and those parameters affect all monsters in that encounter. You can place each individual monster in the Detail view, and also rename their Group Name and Individual name.
For Example I want to use a wolf, but find that the wolves are in the Werewolf Group, so I simply rename the group to Wolf and the name to Timber Wolf.
