I am amazed at how almost every day a new "XYZ is OP!" thread appears. For all of you who feel a particular class is over-powered, please do a simple search of the forums for "nerd", "buff", "OP", etc. You will find dozens of threads for each of these topics:
Trickster Rogue is over-powered (DPS)
Clerics are over-powered (AoE)
Control Wizards are over-powered (CC)
GWF are over-powered (AoE)
GF are over-powered (CC) (Yes, even THIS one)
The funny thing is there are equally passionate threads that say exactly the opposite:
Trickster Rogue needs to be buffed
Clerics need to be buffed
Control Wizard needs to be buffed
GWF needs to be buffed
GF needs to be buffed
I could link to all these threads, but there are simply too many of each. Furthermore, all these complaints are related to player-versus-player, which begs the question: "what are your skills against another player's skills?" - meaning that it is lkely NOT a system balancing issue.
Granted, some serious combat balancing still needs work (Cleric agro, for only one example) - but that balancing mostly applies to player-versus-environment. Anyway, I just thought I'd complete the meme with:
ATTN: DEVS! The fun in neverwinter is OP! NERF THIS NOW!!!!
No wait.... according to the self-entitlement whiners... ATTN: DEVS! The fun in neverwinter is UP! BUFF THIS NOW!!!!
He's not particularly wrong though, everyday there's a new complaint about pretty much every class that needs to be changed. Though, I can't say I've seen to much of any other type of class that's been "Overpowered" except the Control Wizard, and Rogue. Maybe the Guardian, but that was simply due to the glitch that made it one shot HAMSTER, which is fixed now.
Everyone has different opinions though, and slowly, very slowly everything is going to be changed, whether we as a community like it, or not. And when I mean "Slowly", I mean look how godamned long it took em to fix, and patch things we should have seen ever since we found these bugs/glitched/exploits.
But as for the Control Wizard complaint on his AoE being overpowered, that's not even close to why the majority of people are b_tching in the forums about em. It's simply due to the fact, they have both massive damage, and CC. And this I can fall behind, because it's true, coming from someone who PvP's quite often.
Of course I might just being saying that due to being a Rogue myself, but when you can't even approach a class half the time due to the CC, and mass damage. That's kind of saying something. It's either Stealth or die half the time while fighting a Control Wizard. Not only that, their dodge requires far less stamina then every other class that requires HALF a bar to dodge, opposed to 1/3 of their stamina bar. You might think that "Third" dodge doesn't make a whole lot of difference, but it really does, especially when you're teleporting 5-10ft away from every other class.
Of course again, could be just because I'm a Rogue.

All I really want to see is the number of adds in boss encounters toned down. That would make the game pretty much perfect for me as far as playing a cleric goes...

Exactly my thought.
There is no example by which the playerbase could ever be lead.
Said no one ever.
