First off - great work, something completely different. I had to abandon it in the end so I couldn't give author feedback.

Now, I know this is my fault for not being super-awesome but for what it's worth I want to say the combat at the hammer was totally impossible for my rogue. I couldn't handle the multiple AOE's in that narrow space.

It was very frustrating. I wanted to try and get to the hammer but by the time i figured out that might be the way I had multiple respawned mobs on me. While i was tackling the demons to the left of the bridge the hell-bat-women also joined in. At that point the cost in potions and injury kits was killing me as well.

If these mobs respawn and they then join up I'm afraid it's just too much and too costly for me. But I really enjoyed it until that point and recognise what great work it is. I'm just sorry i couldn't match up to it.

i had to give up on this one, too.

and it was good, and fun (if pretty tough, but hey, it's hell). but the hell map had no markers. well, the campfire marker worked. but there were no new map points for the hammer (which i eventually found) and then the carnelien gate (which i totally couldn't find). i did try using the sparkles, but they just told me to run into a pit of lava....

was going to leave feedback in the game about this problem but... apparently, you can't leave feedback unless you finish the quest. :/

You can always use the ingame mail to email the author, even if you didn't finish. The quest was very tough when I played it, but that was long ago in beta weekend 2 or 3.

I have forwarded this link to izatar. He will be glad you all posted!

Thanks for the feedback guys. The witch hammer combat is a standard hard encounter. However, if you choose to skip the demons before attacking guardian , you could have a bad time, since that is also a standard hard encounter.
    Excuse time:
Sadly, I have no control over respawn, and little control over the golden path. The history of building this quest was fraught with difficulty, as the original map it was made on was removed. Then, a couple days before the beta, I fixed it using a new map. The day before the beta, the map was altered! Big boulders were stuck in the middle of the path. So If you don't like the double-back, know that I am not so happy about it either, and it also makes the trip quite a bit longer. Right next to the campfire you will see the path go right into a wall. The quest used to have you go down that path. The annoying part is that the giant boulders that were added are not 'baked' into the map, so the golden path will often tell you to go into a rock face. Also, you might notice that the path to the carnelian gate is really skinny so it can be difficult to locate.
That is also caused by one of the boulders dropped onto the map.
There are other oddities I have no control over. Originally the witch hammer guardians were in the storyline, but as you may have noticed, sometimes they spawn in strange place, or get stuck out of sight. Sometimes, for reasons totally inexplicable to me, the succubuses will go running down the path aggroing all the mobs on the map. I have no idea what is going on with that! They are not set to patrol, or move in any way.
Now, the foundry tool has changed, so the quest cannot be edited without a significant change. I don't want to jump into this as there have been a lot of foundry issues which I don't want to fight with right now, and the quest does generally work, more or less, and I don't want to take the chance of losing another map.

i didn't know how to find the name and use the ingame email. :X i guess you go back to the job board thing and look it up in the foundry again?

thanks for the info, iz! that's a bummer the map go so messed up. i will look for a 'skinny' path to the carnelian gate. is it near the witch hammer pedestal, near the campfire, or clear over on the other side of the map?

i had the succubuses come down the path after me, but that was after i died and respawned back at the campfire. they'd killed me, so i presume they were just still aggro'd on me, so they came after me?

good luck on your next foundry project. :)

The carnelian gate is on the far side of the zone, but you also have to kill a few mobs on the way there. You will see blue circles on marked on the Map when you press the M key.

okay, i was confused because i found a gate on my way to the hammer (though it was grey). ;)

when i press the M key, i only see a blue circle with a 1 in it, that says it is... um, now i've forgotten, but i think it says something like 'draw your cards' or 'the back room'. i thought it was stuck from the first map. does it actually move as the quest goals change?

i did finally find the carnelian gate! yes, it is difficult to find without the sparkles, but they didn't lead me into any rock walls, thank goodness. i never would have found it without them. :X

anyhow, i did finally finish this quest! and in time to get some diamonds for it, too. yay!
