High Ping / Rubberbanding

For the last 4-5 days (As long as I've played Neverwinter) every afternoon my time (Australian) 2pm - 12pm I get horrendous lag and often time out completely, I will be playing PVP and capturing a flag, next minute I've teleported back to my spawn and I have 1,400 ping on Netgraph and 15 million unpacked on the netgraph (It stays like this for sometimes 5 minutes at a time and then goes back to normal for a few minutes, then starts again), this is really frustrating as it's not just me having the issue.

For the record I am with the internet company called Bigpond, I am on a Cable connection and get 20 mb download and 1.5 upload (Including when I'm getting this lag in Neverwinter).

I'm from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Here is the other thread where everyone else is having the same problem, I just really want this to be fixed as soon as possible so I can actually play this game which I really enjoy.

bigpond is a big issue they give very little upload which is needed a fair bit for mmos, plus they charge you for it seperatly.

That being said i have had ruberbanding which has nearly killed me on several ocastions, i dodge then bam im snapped back just in time to catch the full brunt of the attack i had dodged very iritating.

what do you expect? That's quite a distance between Australia and the american servers, I get its a bummer, I'm in the ME myself so my ping is far from optimal, though not as harsh as yours. Distance is a big factor in this....

    Ahhh, the wonders of rubberbands.

i just recommend not to hang out in the protectors enclave.. i've never been rubberbanded outside of prot.enc

I think they issue might've been Mumble + my ISP + Neverwinter = LAAAAAAG

I've stopped using Mumble and haven't had any spikes since.

Id put it down to server load at peak times. Im sure these issues will settle once the game does. Im also from Brisbane. i have 100down and 20up and i at time get the same issues. My quick fix was to change instances. i know this isn't always possible but when it is it helps significantly.

This only happened to me twice. First time I logged off and relogged = no more lag.

2nd time this happened, I thought that maybe it was just in the PE zone I was in. So I switched to another PE# and believe it or not, but the game was fast again! YAY!

I guess some instances of a zone can become too full or too laggy and by switching to a less populated one will fix lag issues.

was in the sky swamp yesterday, and at the end i was starting to get constant rubberbanding, as well as getting bumped around like i was running into invisible mobs (there might have been, i keep seeing mobs appearing and disappearing at random), and the fight at the last boss of solo quests was downright insane.
went to a dungoen through queue, and all lag and rubberbanding vanished.
came back, and rubberbanding is back, and from zone chat seems like many others had it as well.
I managed to skate my way to the ship to get out (fighting mobs that may, or may not, have been in some general vicinity of my location, which may, or may not, have been where my monitor showed me), and spent close to 10 minutes in the ship teleporting back and forth trying to get to the gate.
And when i finally got back to protectors rest, all rubberbanding and lag, gone.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... the biggest factor causing latency in online games is not enough available upload bandwidth. Make sure nothing else that can use upstream bandwidth is being used on your network. that means voice chat clients, including NWO's own voice chat. Instant messengers, peer-to-peer file servers, torrents , everything. Though it could be simply a matter of the provider not having enough upstream to support reasonable online gaming. For example a 2mbps upload will lag occasionally where a 25mbps upload won't ever experience lag. Another thing to do to avoid lag, is make sure you're playing on a wired connection, the delay of a wireless connection to your own gateway can cause significant lag.

I live in the Central US and am on an 18 down 5 up cable connection, and I'm having this problem every now and then. I never have anything running in my background on this machine, no comms, no anti-virus, not even a browser window open, nothing. If I'm having issues with lag, it is a server issue, not an issue with my network. I can 100% confirm there is a problem somewhere on the game server end. I even get a "server not responding" message sometimes on load screens. This is a valid issue, and while some people may have a clogged home network, that doesn't make this a non-issue. It is an issue, and it needs some attention.

If it's possible, go and read the thread I posted in the bottom of OP, and stop posting completely useless and irrelevant information, thanks, this is a known issue to do with certain ISP's not routing well to Neverwinter.
