I was talking with my friends and they said that Trickster Rogues make better T2 boss tanks over Guardian Fighters... Is that true? Is that intended or is that likely to change? I don't want to gear up a TR for tanking and have the rug pulled out from under me a week later...
I think the consensus is that the Rogue should solo the boss because he's got the highest single target dps, while the rest of the group takes care of adds. I don't think you really need to respec or anything, the non-red-shapes-of-doom/massive-telegraphing attacks coming from bosses don't do all that much damage anyway (so far at least) and the red shapes/telegraphed ones you dodge as per usual.
Nobody really tanks anything anyway as far as I can see, you take the normal hits and Shift the special ones. A Guardian can presumably take a lot of normal hits from a lot of mobs at once, but everyone can take normal hits from one enemy and live with some potion use, even from a boss (again, so far).

Rogues don't tank. Rogues just hold aggro and evade being hit. They don't stand in place and dps... Tank is a word that describes someone who stands and takes a beating to their face.

Amazing! A MMORPG where you can "tank" avoiding damage instead of just getting smacked in the head... Dang I'm still stuck in the old WoW way of tanking. Very interesting...
This may be an odd question but does Neverwinter do the higher dungeon tier "gear checks"? Is it a boss timer DPS race? Constant adds that overtime bury the party? If you can evade the big hits from boss encounters and rely more on player skill are there any "tanking gear checks" at all or is it all just a DPS race?

nope, no "enrage timers", or really creative mechanics, just more adds with bosses that have more HP
