I have a problem with Divine Power and only being able to gain it by healing or dealing damage. For instance my group wiped on a boss and I ran out of Divine Power when I died. Now that all the trash mobs are cleared and everyone is full HP, why am I supposed to enter a boss fight with zero Divine Power. There should at least be some way to gain Divine Power by... praying or something. Maybe an ability that allows the Cleric to kneel down and "pray" which then adds some Power to their meter, maybe one "pop", or make it a steady stream of power for 5 seconds.
Correct me if I'm wrong at all about gaining Divine Power.
Get 5/5 ethereal boon and cast encounters until your DP is restored.

I'm talking about entering the fight with no Divine Power. It's really limiting when you enter the fight without it. Most of your team will almost be dead before you can get enough Divine Power to drop an Astral Shield.
You cast encounters before you start the fight, at the campfire. Slot Healing Word and just cast everything until you have a bar.

That doesn't work. You don't gain Divine Power from casting Healing Word on an ally or yourself when you're/they're at full HP. You'll only gain power from healing damage or dealing damage. No other way to get Power than that.
You're so helpful. Thanks for a lot of nothing. Do you want me to post pictures with me using Encounters and gaining zero Divine Power?
Lol, he's saying there's a feat that gives you 10% DP when an encounter comes off cooldown, you can use that.
Or slot the DP on heal passive and then use Healing Word while in combat (dodge then cast it and you'll be in combat temporarily). I know that works for AP gain.

As well as that works. I have a problem with having to spec into Ethereal Boon while missing out on other important feats. It feels like you're almost forced into the feat. I guess if you have to build into it I will it's just really a downer.
I didn't mean to be a HAMSTER, but seriously, 2 different people told you literally how to do what you asked to do.
Anyway, Ethereal Boon is one of the MOST important feats in my build. If only I didn't need 2/5 Rising Hope I'd be 5/5 instead of 4/5 Ethereal Boon. This feat lets you get Divine power while you're in Divine mode. What do you consider more important than your divine power building?
Ethereal Boon is indeed amazing. I pout 3/5 thinking it would be enough and put the 1 point for the 4th pip of divine power (Greater Divine Power), which was a mistake. There is pretty much no good reason to ever need that 4th pip (maybe the start of a pvp match and that's it). When I get to it, I'll change to get the 4th point in Divine Power.
Btw, have you tested with 1/5 Rising Hope? Honestly at this point, extra power does almost nothing for me. 15% increase of my present recovery also does little to help healing or utility due to very bad diminishing returns. So if it's not up 100%, I hardly will notice. But I will notice extra divine in those situations you can't spam auto attack (kiting in bad groups or just those bosses that have stupid amount of adds and the strat is "burn boss, let the cleric kite until he dies and don't even help her out with cc's").
So guessing Ethereal Boon only works with very specific encounter powers then?
i have tried using encounter powers at a campfire and got zero divine energy when encounter powers come off cooldown. I even went off into a combat zone and cast a damaging combat power on a group of enemies which put me at 6% divine power, but when my power was then available again I never gained divine power at all.
So what encounter powers does ethereal Boon actually apply to?
Just tested it 5 seconds ago with Astral Shield, Daunting Light, and Sunburst, all of those give power when they come off of cooldown. And I know Healing Word does, too.
well I just logged back in, and while at my campfire cast Sunburst, Healing Word and daunting light. Before casting any of them I was at 30% divine power and once they were all off cool down I was still at 30% divine power so something else must be a factor.
For the record my ethereal Boon is 2/5 so should give 4% when comes off cool down.

Read the other posts, come back when you understand.

And it's 10% of 1 pip.

Also as a bonus, it works on Divinity Healing Word, so basically gives a little discount there.
Also procs when you use objects sometimes lol.
