I don't even know how they work yet as I haven't bitten the bullet yet. even with 9.9 GS I haven't gotten enough info to make a informed choice for a end game pet ..

info on the subject would be helpful!

Ioun Stone is the "lesser" of the two. It will only go up to level 20. It's SUPPOSED to be able to equip 3 items, but the 3rd item can only be equipped when it hits level 25. That and the difference of 5 levels is a HUGE gap. Stat boost from the cat is MUCH greater because of the 5 levels. The Ioun Stone DOES look cooler of the two. It looks like a circling light going around your head. The thing is though... That's not the actual pet. If you pay attention closely, you'll notice in dungeons and whatnot that there'll be something invisible following you around. I say you'll notice because you'll see an empty circle on the ground following you around. Just like a companion. THAT, I believe, is the actual pet.

There are two stones, the green one goes to 20, the blue to 2. The blue is actually cheaper then cat in zen store thanks to conversion too. Also the stone allows you to equip an Icon over a belt which is a lot more offensive stats.

Does the Ioun stone of Allure only give its owner part of its stats or is it a straight up 1:1 conversion?

It's straight up 1:1 for the stone.

blue is not cheaper than cat. at current 380 ad per zen pricing on mindflayer the cat is worth 2,578 zen.

The blue stone costs 2000 Zen, which makes it cheaper than the cat.

If your looking to up your stats all around, then go Stone. If you need crit chance with some minor boost go with Cat

Just as a note, the base stats are something like:

Cat at max gives 225 crit and 225 recovery from base stats as well as all 3 item slots. Note: ALL bonuses from the items are given to the owner.

Ioun Stone gives 150 power/crit and recovery from base stats. Amounting to the total bonus as the cat but split 3 ways instead of 2. It can also get 3 items (Allure, Ioun Stone of Might only gives 2 items), and all bonuses from the items are given to the owner.

They're both invulnerable and they both give full bonsues to owner.

Also, the rune that gives owner x% of creatures stats DO work, but only 1 and it won't display on the pet's summoning bonus sheet. If you're going to optimize it, I'd suggest maxing with xp runes and then switching to one share stats and 2x whatever else you want.

As to 'which one' I don't think it matters much at all. Pick based on appearance. The cat grooms itself and is all around cute. The Ioun stone becomes more glowy and constantly floats around your head. I went for the Ioun stone myself.

In the end, it's all about the gear you put on it, not the pet itself.

OK so looking at the stone of allure on the zen store I am confused, if it gives the owner power crit and recovery why is it showing defence and regen as its stats in the store instead?
