So I am at the Campfire in the Enclave and count no less than SEVEN identical human female clerics. Why on earth didn't they put a little variety in Companion generation? Take some tips from Dragon's Dogma!
What? Me worry?

Because no one bothers to select the different skins available, opting to use the default.

Because 3 skins almost all identical really makes all the difference.

The only skin selection I saw was to change what their wearing and that's based upon Companion level. When I get the first one I just get an envelope to double click. At what point can I change the way the character looks?

I found it hard to tell the difference...do I go for shoulderpads, or no shoulderpads? Is that a slightly different shade of blue?

Currently none. One could hope there are companion skins later, along with having companion-equipped gear affecting appearances too, in future.

Every 5 levels - default appearance, change at 10, and another at 15, with the L20 skin locked away forever (at least till they either add upgrade books or add a real cleric to the cash shop).

Its a little strange considering the huge amount of customization you can do to bridge officers over on STO (Star Trek Online). I hope they bring that here at least to the humanoid companions to start with.

.... How Cryptic went from Champions Online, and STO's ability to customize your character and everything about it to this mundane 1990 DOS game sameness is unbelievable...
