I've started tinkering with the foundry. I have a lot of stories to tell. My first attempt is an outdoor map and I was unable to find the initial settings I required - stopped at the beginning of my first attempt!
I need to set the time of day to night, add rain weather effects, and create some thunder/lightning, and some basic lighting effects in various places on the map. Try as I might, I can find none of these things. All the tutorials I've found revolve around indoor maps. The Wiki is sparsely populated, and these subject did not appear in the forum searches I performed. I found the skyboxes, but they don't seem to affect the time of day. I also found the localized sound effects, but they don't seem to function.
Could someone be so kind as to link me to information on these subjects, assuming they are possible?
I'm really hoping they add some more outdoor assets to the available models. Buildings and houses are in short supply. The ability to break apart the villages and use individual pieces would be a great start.
Thanks,

Look for the "Edit Backdrop" button near the top right.

On Edit Backdrop button you can not only choose the backdrop but overrides. You could add a moon, as well as new clouds, and fog and lighting etc. Sometimes it doesn't really stack right the way you want though... takes a while to tinker and test with. Though, it's important to remember that sometimes ur main backdrop needs to be the Master Black Exterior one so that the others show well.
I think there is a rain effect under Details > Effects. It might be localized though. Also, rain Sound Effects are in there. Just have them play immediately at start of map or something (if it's non loopable and NOT music, it won't play unless you're in the circular area). Also, currently there is a sound bug to where when you publish the map, sounds that you set don't play in teh quest. In preview mode, all my sounds and music played perfectly. When it published and I played it in NW, none played.
Thunder/lightning sound effects are also there. I don't know if there is a loop option somewhere. For non looped ones, I hope they add that function! Also, if you look hard in the Details > Effects tab, there might be bolts of lightning or fire or what not. Takes skill I guess to use, having to set circular Markers on the map (under Specials), or reaching a component, etc.
Basic lighting effects I'm still trying to work out myself. Under Details > Lights, you can find lights. Glow ones I think create an actual visible dot of light in space that glows. Static and dynamic I think just glow, but I'm not totally sure how good they are... I know they shine on the player, but Idk about terrain. Things like torches shine perfectly on terrain, though. I guess just need to test and see
Tip! A fade to black (or slow fade black. idk. just check Black under effects) effect (I think it's called that) and having it appear at start of map, the screen will get darker but not completely black. It will just be darker than normal. Can be useful for a darker setting.
Another Tip: You could potentially have Markers on blocks of stone floating in air, that when a person steps within the area, you could tell the Stone to disappear (Component Reached) XD. Or you could hvae objects inspectable, but only some are for objective EXCEPT it doesn't say which one. I guess they would give you different items or none, and you could set what an NPC or golden statue does when you give it the item I guess?

Excellent! I was thinking of it as a map property rather than an object on the map. It will take some tinkering, but I think that will do what I need it to do. Thank you so much
No prob . I can't wait till/if we get loop, reset if, if, then, and wait commands! You could have lightning appear for a second, disappear for 10 seconds, then appear again, and the cycle would continue indefinitely or until said time; or if you stepped on a stone and it fell under you, when you respawn, the stone would be there again (practice makes perfect)
The foundry is great but it's still kind of limited gameplay wise
