Impression into words...

Well, I thought I'd give my overall impression of NWO after extensive play-testing and hours upon hours of adventure within the game and using foundry.

First off the noteworthy:

Visuals - stunning graphical presentation
Audio - top notch material and sound atmosphere incorporation
Gameplay - general mechanics and controls are impressive; although not perfect.
F2P model is admirable
Very limited grind
Foundry(90%)

Not so noteworthy:

Gameplay - repetitive, linear and can get boring at times.
Character creation - limited and not true D&D design.
Leveling - way to fast and linear.
Dev content - bland(story); find myself just blurring past any interest in npc chat.
Foundry - somewhat limited and bugged.
Community - inconsistent(finding a quality party of ppl to jam with is very difficult.)

Overall for an action mmorpg it is fun, as for a mmorpg with the tittle of D&D on it.....flawed, just like DDO with it's many more flaws. I know it's still in beta and I wish it was possible that the dev's could really alter some stuff, but as it goes that doesn't look like it will happen. As a F2P game I really can't complain, but with the D&D logo on it, and a long time fan of that material then I will complain. This doesn't feel D&D, nor does it truly represent such. DDO had the feel, but was flawed by presentation, the ugly community and it's utter imbalanced-chaotic stat system that was abusive if not downright malevolent in it's illicitation towards players, especially the casuals crowd. Not to mention the campaign setting....eberron will never be truly D&D at it's heart or core.

I do give hats off to the dev's for NWO and the foundry in general, but D&D traditional or genuine; NWO is not.

Have you read the latest D&D?
I love 2nd edition but times change, I disagree with you It is the most D&D feel Multiplayer game I have played.

4th edition was a total failure which is why Pathfinder is the leader and Wizards of the Coast has moved on to 5th edition. As for the game its going to be different from the current edition as they had to come up with a way to stretch the leveling out to give the game the "mainstream" mmorp feel (ya know the Wow style, the one everyone hates but always compares anything new to)
The foundry is the best thing about this game and I have seen some wonderful adventures created already in the games infancy.

Perhaps explain its limitations so the devs have an idea on what to work on. Saying something is limited without giving a n explanation is a waste of space

I absolutely loved the character creation. I was practically squirming in my chair when I saw all of the changes I could make to my people. I loved being able to choose the Deity and write a bio that I can update as they grow..

My only complaint about character creation was boggle rolling. I had hoped to be able to manually adjust character stats, but in the end, it works for me.

I also like the quests and happen to like the bulk of the voice acting. A few of them sound like Game of Thrones folk to me too.. which keeps me wondering.
