FUN!

Amidst the innumerable whine threads and complaints I've decided to give some positive feedback to the devs and let them know that PvP in this game is a blast. Two thumbs up from me.

It's fast paced, dynamic, exciting, etc... I can't imagine going back to a tab-targetting MMO like WoW after playing this.

Yes, there are some issues that need addressing like a report system for AFKers and maybe some balancing with regards to mounts. But overall PvP is surprisingly BALANCED. Which is no small feat especially considering this is a beta. It's more balanced than WoW ever was.

So devs please, don't make any drastic changes to classes or mechanics based on the incessant whining from some of the forum warriors. There will always be a vocal group of malcontents no matter what you do. Keep up the good work!

Its very satisfying as a class with dodges and ranged attacks. For Guardians its frustrating very very often. No idea how about lvl 60, but around 30 its not very satisfying. But yeah it can be fun a lot of times.

I definitely agree! I would suggest to solve AFK problems, instead of it being 15 minutes for a disconnect due to inactivity, make it maybe 2 minutes. PVP is a get up and go thing, so you shouldn't even be inactive at all. Also, I'm sure people will be intelligent enough to go to the washroom before they sign up for PVP. Emergencies are a different circumstance, but if it's that serious, you won't be returning for a lengthy amount of time.

Apart from the AFK situation, I love the PVP system. I play a fighter, and I see absolutely no problems with balance. I can kill everyone equally :)

I was very surprised on how the pvp played out and have been addicted ever since my first match. I've been playing several hours a day since open beta release. Like mentioned above the afk issue is a bit out of hand where it gets rare at time to get in a full 5v5. Another issue is the games single check mechanic on skills. Kinda kills the action when your "dodge" mech is really just a small invulnerability button and afterwards it doesn't matter how far away you moved out of range of an atk "especially melee" you'll still be hit because u was in range when the atk started.

PvP in this game requires Gear with an equal or higher amount of stats than the opponent in order to be equal as good or dominate.

Where exactly is the fun in dominating someone? What sports team in the world enjoys domination? Successful and enjoyable sport matches are always there, when teams are Equal. Which means No Gear Advantage, No Domination.

If you enjoy Domination, than you apparently are mentally still too young and unexperienced that you don't get the pattern of you over and over and over [...] winning over your opponents, which means your right brain hemisphere is not working as it should be. If it would work as intended, you would get bored very quickly by the fact of repetition. Repetition is not what the universe is. The universe is always novelty, always new and fresh. Which means: Equal teams and every time a new situation. This means that each new situation provides new information and experience for you to inhale and work with. THIS is enriching. Domination is dulling, is mentally deadening.

And on top of that PvP in this game requires you to combine only 5-7 skills. Which results in an extremely unflexible playstyle, waiting just for skills to get off cooldown. One after the other, instead of acting and most importantly reaction/being able to counter the opponents abilities. This provides next to no variety in terms of longevity in PvP.

This game fails in terms of PvP, in terms of a competitive gameplay on the FULL scale possible.

Nobody blames you if you do not get the mechanic behind it. Which means you lack experience and experience comes over time.

    That, is it.

Wow. What an incredibly..........Condescending rant based on total opinion.

Telling someone they lack experience because they enjoy a particular game mode is the height of arrogance if I've ever seen it. You do realize that while its the same style of match there are 10 different people in that match that vary every single time changing tactics constantly right? I won't even bother going into universal explanation because its completely irrelevant and shouldnt have been brought up anyways.

Lastly, claiming you are limited by 5-7 powers? Hardly. It just means you have to be more ingenuitive and strategic with your abilities rather than just spamm clicking off skills until they reset.

Claiming a game mode "fails" because YOU personally do not enjoy it or would have it another way is just ridiculous. Try to be more considerate of the rest of the population before posting as such please. There are other opinions besides your own.

You know people do complain about TR a lot.. But you put 1 skilled Cleric and 1 skilled Guardian Fighter, and wow is it a whole different pace of pvp.. After 2 days of pvping all day, I finally got in a match where each team had 1 of each of those (played by good players) and our mid battle lasted a long time and was tons of fun. TR's weren't very useful in the mid battle and were doing what they should be doing - working on capping/holding 1/3 and picking off people trying to escape mid low on hp.. As a CW I was focusing Clerics in mid and running to side flags when our TR needed help.. So much different then any match I've played in these 2 days, showed me the PvP in this game CAN be a blast.

Gear gives you an advantage over other players.

You don't say! Is this like your first RPG m8? Are you 12?

    It's repetitive.

Again, have you played an MMO before this mate?

    It's not an eSport

AGAIN, it's an MMORPG what do you expect? Go play SCII or Counterstrike if you want a "competitve" game without gear discrepancy.

Now, on to the topic. Pvp in NW is fun. Simple as that.
They have a well thought out system that works. Each class can perform a role and their varying skill determines how well their team does. Thats how pvp should be.
Ofcourse TRogues will get more Kills than GF's. GF isn't exactly a chase/dps character. He's a Tank. Most Rogue's aren't going to do so well in base 2 vs 3-4 other players. It's not their role. People seem to complain alot about how hard TR hits, but honestly thats what TR is made to do. Hit Hard.

That being said, there are some balancing issues. I'm not talking about mounts. They will never change that. the only solution is to get a faster mount. I'm talking about hitboxes/hit delay/kill counter.

The Hitboxes: need work. I can get hit by a melee swing from a good distance a way, and on the flip side, I can hit a rogue or mage that just dodged on the other end of the dodge(someone in this Thread mentioned that, its true).

Hit Delay: Pulling up shield has a Huge Delay sometimes in combat. We are talking full 2 seconds before they even start to pull up the shield. I've also seen sme players get stuck in their normal attack animation for a good 2-3 seconds while they tried to use an encounter.

Kill Counter: This thing is all messed up. I've seen players get assists in 1v1's when they clearly landed the kill blow. I've got an assist from a player my teamate killed that never even got to the base I was at. I've also got a kill when I wasnt the last player to strike.

I hope they fix that or atleast make the kills based on damage dealt to the enemy rather than the kill blow.

aside from that a few moves need to be balanced out for pvp. (clerics shield buff) (rogue Poison) Few others

Anyways, Pvp is very fun. I think everyone should give it a try.
