And would benefit from skills/feats that provide +% aoe damage increases?

I have been wondering this myself, though the servers went down before I could test it. I mean all you would have do is to use it while in the tab slot a few times and then in a normal slot a few times. I personally have a big enough bonus to AoE damage that it shouldn't take much to notice a swing in damage if it does become affected. Though I only have those bonuses because I was working under the assumption that it was effected.

It is. If you put evocation in one of your CF slots, you will notice that the damage for Chill Strike increases. Seems to be only one of 4 skills that is actually considered an AoE. Arcane Singularity, Conduit of Ice, Icy Terrain, and Sudden Storm are some skills I would consider AoE but don't receive an increase in damage from Evocation or +AoE Damage feats.

Its odd. I did some testing, and normally swapping it in and out there is no change in damage. Except with evocation. Traited I have a 15% bonus to area of effect abilities. But only evocation effects spell mastery chill strike, not the feats. And the Sudden Chill feat also doesn't effect it while in the spell mastery slot.

Well, good to know. I suppose that makes Evocation a bad idea on a build that relies on those powers?

About half of our AoE skills don't actually benefit from the AoE dmg buffs.

Conduit of Ice and Icy terrain are probably considered DOTs and not AOEs.
I don't think Arcane Singularity should be considered an AOE: it seems a sort of reverse gravity spell were most of the effect is just falling damage at the end.
Sudden Storm is very bugged and needs several fixes, and should be properly flagged as an AOE.

What 4 skills are that? I maxed out wizard's wrath and focused wizardry so I need to know... I was planning to focus on Conduit of Ice, Icy Terrain and the thaumaturge tree, but now I don't know...

AOE Encounters I know:
- Chill Strike [if tabbed]actually very good
- Shield [when bursted]not reliable, a panic button
- Steal Time great spell, but low damage so very little damage returns anyway
- Shard of the Endless Avalanche theoretically good, but very buggy
AOE Dailies I know:
- Ice Storm great for soloing and good for PVP, our best AOE daily, but way unpopular in dungeons
- Oppressive Force less damage, better control than Ice storm
- Maelstrom of Chaos much harder to use than Arcane Singularity and affects less enemies, but better control and damage
I am unsure of and would like to have info about
- Chilling Cloud (at will)
- Storm Pillar (at will)
So basically: it isn't true that we have few AOEs (at the very least it is prefectly possible to have the encounter and daily bars entirely filled with Aoes) it is just that AoE spells are less popular among the players.

Tabbed chill strike: 2821-3289 (wizard's wrath/focused wizardry)
Tabbed chill strike with evocation: 3244-3782
Yes it is considered/affected by aoe passives. In the odd rare moments where Snap Freeze actually works, it jumps to 3.7-4.2k.
