Dreadful FPS drop

As the title states i have been suffering huge FPS drops at certain stages. It seems to be directly related to the whirlwind spells some fellow players cast. A few targets and its okay, if its a true mass effect then my FPS drops to zero for the better part of 3 seconds. Please tell me this is still being looked into as many people have uttered the same problem for a while now but no official response has been given. I have even gone as far as bringing my old desktop back to life just to verify its not a one off.
Please take this seriously as right now in certain groups i just cant play my part because everytime a pull comes my FPS drops to well below 0! I don't have any of these problems with newer games (this is just the old LOTRO visual engine, dont kid yourself), so it has to be an issue with the coding.
Any acknowledgement would be much appreciated as right now its unplayable.

This game is unplayable for HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of players because of the fps drops.
Cryptic needs to fix this quickly, Your not the only one waiting on a response from the devs.
Even on high end gaming rigs, the game still drops to 15-25 fps. It's strange cause on every other mmo ive played with the settings maxed or at medium, it runs fine.
With neverwinter, its a slide show.
