There are some people who know the quest chains and contact locations by heart, and can both cut down travel times w/ faster mounts and by reducing the need to double back to a great degree. As with Cryptic's other game, (and from what I've seen on the boards), this game is more about the journey than the destination, so don't be in such a rush.

This is fine compared to most players.

Remember that most of the [people who raced to 60 had already played most of the quests before in closed Beta and have an optimal route planned out including knowing exactly what to buy and when.

I hit 60 in 1 hour 17 hours. I used the 110% mount from level 40 onwards. Quest all the way and Arena when it's on the event thing. Enjoy it though, don't focus on the time. Your timing : level ratio isn't terrible at all.

There were also a lot of players that were taking advantage of Foundry quests that were created specifically to give massive amounts of exp in a short amount of time.

Which no longer work since Cryptic patched in an exp cap for them.

Last time people actually enjoyed leveling, story and were taking their time to explore was during vanila wow. Everything past that(said wows expansions including) is all about rat race for some reason.

People since then have made it so "Game starts at end game", which i find terrible. It makes all the leveling and gear gotten while it feel pointless. It's the annoying emphasis placed on raids and epic dungeons. It also trivializes all the game before whatever is the "top". :P I've been enjoying foundries at cap, but besides story, there isn't any reason past the dailies for me to do them.

Still there though, clogging up the foundry lists, getting high ratings.

You can level fast and fine just doing the story quests, and get bags, items and other helpful things, plus you learn to play a LOT better than doing foundry grind. Leveling in this game is insanely fast, i got to 60 from the headstart to a day before OB, and that wasn't even racing.

I level far slower than that, I'm not in a hurry. Also don't care how fast or slow other people level, I'm not trying to compete with Starcraft-Competition-style button-mashing.

I tend to make new characters and try a different path when I get bored with grinding or missions, I'm doing the opposite of power-leveling.

I just got like 10 lvls in my first few days and after that i made sure to get a minimum of 2 lvls everynight before doing anything else. Ill be 60 tonight xP also grab every single quest in a map at once.

Have you done evry zone quest, skirmish and defeated every single dungeon boss ? Not saying about foundrys for proper levels, its something imposible to do within a day and a half so dont say ****! Leveling is way to fast in this game, enjoy the lore!

Before they nerfed it foundry xp grind quests gave ridiculous xp. You could literally level from 50-60 in just one hour off of them.

No more to say! You made my point, it fails like SWOTOR did.

someone should make a game where you are already max level, and take exp tottaly out of the frakking games, if it's going to be end game content only, at least THEN, the storyline quests can all be end game quests, no level scaleing problems, no loot based on level problems, frak, 90% of the problems with games now, can be removed by simply removeing "levels" and "exp"
    ____________

lol or a "retroactive fix" for all games currently made.. simply put a "[tutorial]" tag on the end of all missions 1 level or more below max level.

Defiance works like that, but it's a bit easier since it's a third person shooter that happens to be an MMO.
