Wizard Shield Spell

I cannot for the life of me find an actual numeric value for how much it improves my defenses. Does anyone know?

    The first hit you take with a fresh shield, it absorbs some of that damage. I read somewhere its about 50% of that hit.. It will have to regenerate (you not being hit for 6 seconds), before it absorbs another hit.
