I dont know what has happened, but, when I try to test my map, even if I respec my character, he cannot attack, use abilities etc. Even after I buy them with the skill points given, they simply do not appear in the slots in the bar at the bottom of the screen. This of course makes it impossible to test my maps.
Im not sure what has happened, anyone else having this issue?

Delete him and re-enter the Foundry, the test character will be recreated.
Delete him? Ummm...I dont know what you mean. My test character isnt an actual character in a list. He is created when I press play map. There is no character to delete in any list. The only way I am able to alter him is through the 'respec' menu at the top of the editor.
Something new I have noticed, when I am spending points on skills, they dont register as spent and there is no 'OK' button to accept the changes, further, all my stats are at 1...and again, the points dont register as spent nor is there an 'OK' button to accept the changes. I dont know what is going on here. It was working yesterday and I have not done or changed anything.
This really needs addressing folks as this is a foundry breaking bug. Does anyone know of a work around to fix this or will I have to wait for my support ticket to be answered in a few weeks time?
Ive just noticed something. Have you just recently hit level 15 with your character in Neverwinter?

Same problem here...my foundry "author" has no weapons or skills, the only way to kill the required mobs/boss is with the control-space command, which is really lame. Character is level 40 in the "real" game, which I doubt matters.
I would like to hear from a Dev about this. Just to know that they are aware we are having problems and that they are looking into it. Its a rather serious issues for content creators.
this happens when you "choose" a paragon path and then respec to a different class, I think
Not entirely, my Author character has been broken with no skills, no stats, and no abilities since 'Open Beta' when live.

I had the same problem, I got my foundry character to level 15 or so... testing my maps... i decided to respec the character... all his gear went POOF and disappeared. Luckily, I just ran the ending to the foundry a few times and grabbed the loot and got a sword, shield, and i killed a few mobs and got some boots and chest piece.

Yeah same problem for me, I can't spec him at all with ability's.

For now, "Author" can be only used to tweaking map details and checking dialogs/objectives. Encounters are simply "control-spaced" and need to be tested live. That s*cks :P My first quest I tested live was unfinished and got rating of 2 because someone wanted to review it despite big "TEST RUN" title....

To add to this, I've now noticed that my GAME character is having the same issues! Here's my scenario...
1) Played unpublished map with "author", noticed that "at-will" attacks were not working.
a) Noticed that control bar showed at-will attack bindings as "joy7" and "joy8" (?!?!?).
2) I go into settings (while in unpublished map with Author), and try to change my at-will keybinds back.
a) Have the option of choosing "left-click", "left-press", "right-click" and "right-press" (plus the other options, like mouse-wheel, etc.)
b) using *-press does not register (keybind is still left blank, in-game response is nil when pressing mouse buttons
c) using *-click makes you continuously attack. No way to break out of it. You just constantly, permanently attack, almost like you are holding down the button forever.
3) I bound the at-will attacks to keyboard keys, and the insanity stops, but now I can't use my mouse for attack.
4) A day or two later, I decide to play a while instead of create in the Foundry.
a) My one character's at-will attacks are bound to joy7 and joy 8. I try to re-assign the key binds to the mouse buttons, and the same thing happened in game as before with Author character.
b) I even tried resetting my key binds to default, and the at-will keys DEFAULTED to joy 7 and joy 8.
5) I cried big, fat, wet, tears and logged off. (Right after submitting a report)
Check your in-game characters...are they messed up too?

This issue is getting old. Has anyone gotten a solid response from the Devs or mods on this? My account is fine, however my daughters account is not and we are unable to test her work without publishing it ( and frankly that is just dumb).

Well, you used to see the test character when you selected Foundry, so you could delete it. Currently you don't. Either they changed that or the Foundry publishing issue is affecting it as well. This problem has been going on since long ago in beta.
And still no word from the Devs on the issue. Why on earth would they make it so that you cannot test your map out offline? That just seems to be a ridiculous idea. I mean really, if I cant test out the map and its encounters, how on earth am I supposed to balance it out? I simply cant do that with the current system.
The devs need to sort their acts out and fix what is broken and leave alone what works. This is just stupid.
This happened to me. I got lucky in that I have a founder pack companion that could do the killing for me. eventually i got Author leveled back up and gave him a weapon and now he can hit again. HOWEVER, his base stats are all 1. lol

I have the same problem with my foundry test toon. I cannot respec him to anything, he is stuck at 0 for all stats and I can only spend about 4 skill points and get them to stick.
