Ioun Stone of Allure vs Car - What would be the better CW pet?

Trying to decide what would be the better CW pet.

The Ioun stone gets additional levels, so I am guessing more stats and more power transferred to me, but it also loses an offensive slot...

Thoughts?

Really comes down to stat preference (and cosmetics, I guess).

If you're renegade you probably want the critty cat, otherwise mayhaps the Stone of POWER.

Isn't the stone blue? I didn't think it was purple.

Where do you get the Ioun Stone of Allure?

I would use the car so I could drive around.

    Lol sorry, couldn't help it.

Both of them are blue, so it really doesn't matter.

BUT and this is huge! The Cat does not say it shares stats with you, while the stone does. So maybe the Cat doing this is a bug, and will eventually be fixed by Cryptic.

I think the Cat and the Ioun stone are both designed to give you the benefits of the stats. The Cat and the Ioun stone are both supposed to be non-combat pets who just follow you around, so there would be no reason for them to slot equipment for personal stats.

One big point I brought up in another thread about the exact same topic though: While the Cat grants more Crit and Recovery as a base rating, in the long run the fact that the Ioun stone has one equipment slot for Icons is very interesting. Potentially, that would mean the Ioun stone could be equipped with an icon slotted with an enchantment.

I always figured the cat has the bigger base bonus but the ioun stone gives 100% of the stats* from runes and items you give it, but not the cat because it never specifically said it but..

I'm also just a sucker for ioun stones :x

Wizards with cars would be an interesting idea...
*some stats don't work like +hp just increases the stone's hp

If you own the stone, can you please confirm what stats it gives by itself? Is it still 160 power, 160 crit, 160 recovery at max rank or they changed something since beta?

So the cat gives higher base crit and recovery but doesn't give power? While stone gives crit , power and recovery but much lower than the crit the cat gives?

Also, the stone, gives you 100% of the stat you equip it in, while the cat only gives a portion of that stat?

Then wouldn't the stone be better hands down?

the cat and stone have base stats they give you. it's 225 with the cat not counting cha bonuses, like 150 or something witht he stone.

BOTH PETS give you 100% of their stats. you can put on gear and runestones to flavor with either pet.

both pets allow you to gear for other stats, as both pets will have you hitting the massive dr that rears it's ugly head as soon as you have 3k in any stat except power. power has no DR.

this means you can easily get 3k crit 3k recovery 1.5-2k defense and then stack the hell out of power after that. i completely re-enchanted all of my clerics gear from crit to power because my cat gives me 900 crit and 900 recovery (plus some other stats)

Hmm im new to this game and is planning 9jncharging zen to get a companion,

Does that cat give 225 to all stats? While the stone gives 150 only?

Im sorry if my question is kinda noobish

But can anyone tell me the difference exactly of the cat and stone aside from the appearance of course, i mean like what stat and how many stat dies each give? So i can make a side by side comparison

Cat only buffs crit and recovery by itself. Ioun stone buffs everything but to a lesser amount. Both transfer the stats of any items you put on them. Cat has 2 offensive and 1 defensive runetone slots, Ioun Stone has 3 offensive.

Ioun Stone of Allure has 2 offensive 1 defensive too.

Also at rank 17 it is giving me a base +92 to Power Crit and Recovery

I palced an rank 5 Eldrich rune on the defensive slot +7% pet's stats given to owner, and i did observe my crit stat going up after I slotted it, though I was kind of in a group at the time so I did not have the chance to observe every stat.

you can't go wrong with either pet. it's extremely easy to get to the deep-dr plateau of 3k in crit and recovery with either of the pets to the point that you actively start looking for more power, defense, mobility or re-enchant your gear with tenebrous

Delve loot murdered my TR, DC, & GWF. Nerf Plox:
I know that it sucks to no longer get gear to sell from the Dungeon Delve chest but it was truly overpowered.
