I really wish there was a new player section to post this...
I'm on my third set of leather(chest)armor, all look exactly the same. Are there different skins for armor? I love the game, but feel they took did designing a little on the cheap.

What level are you? I'm 26 and my armor has changed a tiny bit, once or twice. My weapon however, has never looked different whatsoever all this time.
I'm almost 40 and it changes but not by a lot. On my Gr my shield has been round and kite, and of varying design on it. My armor has all been full plate but with different colors (i've had gold, blue, and metal). Some have shoulders on both sides, some have had just one shoulder or no shoulders. All the helms have looked the same, besides the pirate drop blue helm which is a pirate hat. I've had an Axe, sword, and now a mace made out of human skulls.
It seems the the blue quality and higher get more unique art on the armor/weapons. Also if you really like a piece. Save it. You can spend AD ( think it's ad don't remember off the top of my head) to change your current weapon/armor to that skin at any time as long as you keep the item to use as a skin. I plan on making all my weapons this skull skin until I find a better one.

Everything i've come across with my lvl41 GWF has been pretty much the same. Sometimes there's a shoulder pad on the right shoulder, sometimes on the left or sometimes no pad at all. Those are the most noticeable differences between chest armors.

I agree their could be more variety. Almost all armor for the same class looks identical. Would really like to see some HAMSTER cloaks as well.
Subtle changes until 60, then things branch out more. Side by side the low level ones look more different, but as you're leveling, it all kind of looks the same. Doesn't help that colors don't change unless you dye them, and there is little point at lower levels.
It’s a comfortable bet that graphical assets like armor and weapon skins are not that high on the priority list. I am sure you will see more of them once a few of the current fires are put out. Right now they are working on the drive train, the paint job will have to keep for a while.
I've been changing armor two to four time each time I play. I can't see worring about what it looks like when it changes so often.

Even if they want to start with more different helms and head gear that would be a start, Throw in a few choices of cloaks and it would at least help with the clones
On a side note the textures and skins are quite detailed and the armor does look pretty cool. All three sets of them:rolleyes:

The difference between low level gear is often one has an extra plate or the sleeves are slightly longer. Take off your shirt and pants, and you will notice the changes in appearance (shirt and pants only add +6 def, you won't notice the change in stats). High level gear looks very different; almost every instanced dungeon level 30-60 has it's own unique skin style. This is my level 42 GWF wearing a mix of Gray Den and Nine Hells gear.

I don't think you will ever see drastic differences in armor ala WoW style. Just doesn't fit into the D&D or NVW style.
