I don't give 6 months for this game to die out, they'll maintain a minor community of brainless money spenders since the game will never get a chance to even form a base community on it... Champions Online died out once these geniuses bought Cryptic and brought their smart marketing changes into that game, only thing that kept it alive was the base of community that had fans who painfully spent money for a while, last time I've logged in there, I've actually paid for 1 month to access cuz my main was locked by their system, of course, no one that I knew from the old days was online for less than 1 year, imagine that... Game got reduced to 1 server, probably a merge happened, my guild was all off for more than a year, basically a ghost "town".
Now let's put up with facts: this game has bad graphics for the 2013 standard, it doesn't stay true to D&D, nor it is an "real" MMO, it isn't paid to play, but you can't "win" without paying, most of the animations involving physics are completely glitched, no mention of patching it anytime soon, content is incomplete at the point that every 2 steps I take in the game I have that overwhelming feeling that something is missing, only to realize later that "it will be added in the future", from what I've learned from other companies that run MMOs, that means at least 1 to 2 years, which by that point I'll be far away playing something more appealing, the engine is exactly the same as CO (even the background musics are almost identical to Champions Online), StarTrek, and so forth, the only innovation here is the "click aim" system, which doesn't differ much from the classic "Tab 1 2 3 4 5", only adding a bit of immersion, but requiring zero skill from the player in that regard (auto-aim and stuff).
What bugs me the most about the D&D appealing is seeing no prestige classes inserted but instead paragon paths, which not only were added later on D&D, as well as far as I know, are something you pick after going prestige and after deciding if you'll go cross-class or not, on top of the cap of lvl 60, wth? haha - (before any bashing comes up, I am not the marketing genius who put up an youtube publicity stating this game was D&D, I came here seeking D&D so my argument is more valid than your existence)
Man, I must say that I really liked the game, but when I get things to balance the worth of spending any penny on this game, well, I see no reason, not only it has way too many ripoffs, it is in Beta stage, doesn't even make sense to charge for anything there other than clutter, and even on that they are lacking, 3 fashion sets?! really? haha
My advice? Squeeze the juice from this game, but don't bother paying for anything, probably you won't stick with it for long enough to be worth your hard earned money, or your dad's/mom's...
I think that's about it, tho there are tons of other "problems" with this game marketing wise, one does not simply sell something that is broken and of no value
so much for so little, the world has too many dumb people, but wth? That's how they make money!
...so my argument is more valid than your existence
STFU and QFT! Not that it wasn't enough to post a meaningless wall of text that most are just going to pass over...
Yea, it's unfortunate but this cash grab of a game won't last in today's MMO market.

lol what do people like you try to accompish with that nonsense? also it is really beyond me how somebady is ok with paying 200 bucks a year on a subscription model but not being able to play the game fro free and only pay for what you buy additionaly...that logic only works in your twisted head.
OP: I'm not going to comment on your opinions. You're entitled to your opinions, and there's no way to say whether they're right or wrong. But I can comment on your facts.

You're right about Champions Online. What about Star Trek Online? It's getting a new expansion this month - a third faction with full PvE quest content, races, cosmetics, gear, starships... so yeah, we've seen Cryptic and Perfect World abandon one game. But not the other. Maybe Neverwinter will end up like Champions. Maybe it'll end up like Star Trek. We don't know.
What bugs me the most about the D&D appealing is seeing no prestige classes inserted but instead paragon paths, which not only were added later on D&D, as well as far as I know, are something you pick after going prestige
Paragon stuff is what D&D 4th Edition uses. 4e doesn't have prestige classes. Neverwinter is faithfully following the 4th Edition lead in this area. Given their license with D&D is to make a 4th Edition game, it's entirely possible they can't use prestige classes.
You might have come here looking for D&D, but I'm guessing you're more familiar with 3rd ed and 3.5 than 4e. I understand that. I'm not really familiar with 4e myself. But I don't expect the game to be something it's...not.

hehehe No rubbish there mate, I've studied game design for years, I know what I'm talking about, tho I agree there's no point posting it, did to not feel bad with myself, cuz I really don't care about what will happen with this game or what people who read what I've wrote think, unless the guy who reads is the Head GD of the game, and he personally contacts me, which isn't going to happen...

Yeah, I don't know 4e, and I only know AD&D, long time ago actually... It will be unfortunate if they never add that, customization with prestige and cross-classes are way more appealing and fun...
so much for so little, the world has too many dumb people, but wth? That's how they make money!
i agree with some of what the OP says but it actually fairly faithful to 4e... stop comparing this to NWN 1 and 2 they used a completely differant system. 4e was an entirely different beast and this game follows it fairly close...
You started your argument with "bad graphics" ...Enough said, just another troll people move along.
lol no troll at all, I troll people with inferior IQ levels, that's about it, intelligent people can follow me here, tho they are pointing out I'm wrong about the 4e, which I already know, but doesn't stop me from finding it bad on other aspects!

Well, if you take simple math out of the equation.... whoa!!! suddenly the sub argument makes so much sense
Given the quality of your writing and arguments, I am astonished that you can find anyone like that.......
my writing comes a bit wrong, yes, since I not only speak english, but other 4 languages as well, if you take a few mistakes into account to judge the IQ level of a person, you are obviously under average...

Ah, another angry burger flipper. ( Not to say working the line in fast food is bad, everyone has their place in life, just don't be angry at the world because you've made the wrong choices with your financial situation. )
Spend less time complaining about shop prices and more time improving your salary.
mate, I've abandoned all MMOs I've played for a reason, the business model the game companies have being going on is offensive, and I'm no burger flipper, I just find that games are a waste of money, seriously, I'm more inclined to spend small fortunes amassing culture on film festivals or going out to clubs/pubs/bars and drink my money till I pass out...
I am that kind of guy that pays for games once for lifetime play, or cheap monthly subscriptions that I won't play for more than a year, games grow old on me really fast, and I am not to blame, the devs are...
I've studied Game Design for years and that makes me something of a one-eyed person among blinds, you can't see the picture and there's a reason for that, tho I can and I've ranted because I, for instance, don't like to live with things I think without expressing myself.
You would be surprised on how predictable your arguments are and how dumb it sounds from my point of view, it is basically, you are grouped into a place where you feel safety and you want to defend so you feel you are part of something, that's a really bad sign of psychological issues. Thinking before you post and arguing before you take sides would do wonders for you guys...

so you've given up on the troll efforts and now you're attempting to project us into your fantasy world???

I'm pretty sure, you also realize that this post was a complete waste. But I will from a "one eyed" gamer to another salute you for continuing to try, we need more like you and less like the few that would judge you out of hubris and ignorance.

You "studied" game design for years, but don't know the difference between a period and a comma?
Lots of talk about IQ while failing to type properly, and other arguments one wouldn't expect from a high IQ individual, with the odd defensive statement without any truth base to it

Wait wait wait... in the title, are you saying you own a harsh little critic?
Or did you mean you're making a harsh little critique?
The two are quite different.

Apparently ALL MMOs are run by evil, moronic toads and none will make it past next week.
So there you go. The people have spoken. The people are never wrong.
