Hero's of the North Drow vs Half Orge

I was looking for some insight on what people think about the:

Drow: Fairy Fire 5% chance to debuff 6% Power & Defense for 4 seconds. +2 Dex, 2 Char

VS

Half Orge 5% Crit Dmg, 2 Dex, 2 Str, combat run speed 10% for 3 seconds.

I've read that HO is better for overall DPS vs Tiefling (Depending on how Cha is involved for CA)

Does the Drow's debuff change anyone's options? Thank you in advance for your time responding.

I think the half orc's racials beat out the HotN Drow hands down, not to mention that you don't have to shell out $200 for it.

For me, it's HO unless you really want to be Drow...and yes I've the 200$ pack and my TR is a HO.

STR > Dex (PVP) = Cha (PVE)

I went HOrc pumping STR n Dex
Gave in to that momentary sadistic twitch...

Half Orc 5% damage bonus will only make a huge difference when engaged in long duration fights like PVE against certain bosses. As for PvP the fights won't last that long so depending on the skill of the player and who ever gets the jump on who first will decide who is victor. I rolled a DROW TR because I personally think they look better :)

For groups I'd say Drow, hands down. Faerie Fire debuffs the targets power and defense, decreasing the amount of damage the target does and increasing the amount taken. Now, 1vs1 this doesn't seem like a big deal. But when an entire party is hitting that target, they easily out damage the HO's +5% crit. severity. Combine that with the +5% crit bonus to the whole group that TR's can spec for and you have one hell of a team player. Solo, sure, the HO does more. But overall, especially in long fights, the group damage done/less damage taken from the drow is superior.

You also have to remember that Cha doesn't just buff Combat Advantage damage, it buffs companion stats as well. Use a companion that shares stats with you and you'll easily out damage the HO.

Anyway, besides min/maxing, play what you enjoy. Cheers :)

Basically, this. However that does bring up the question of whether Faerie Fire stacks from multiple sources, which may or may not negate the positive impact of being Drow vs HO. Anyone have any word on this?

I also was wondering if FF stacked but I'm still trying to find out myself. IF it does....surely de-buffing would be better than Half Orc damage bonus?

FF is the best racial ingame, hands down

I play with my CW friend most of the time, we are both drows, we have the 2stack FF (spider symbol) on almost every bigger mob in no time

Dont know if this is intended though, 5 drows -> 30% defense/power down.. seems OP

They should just make one FF debuff count per mob. Still for the Min/Max OCD types this will guarantee SOMEONE HAS TO BE DELF!

So, is the tooltip bugged or the 5% chance displayed is high enough to be considered as a given (as some posts hint at) ?

im a HO myself, however I have grouped and talked with drow and they say it goes off far more often than 5%. However I have no idea if it stacks I dont think it should, However Plague currently stacks so I imagine it does, I dont think either should(and yes I have greater plague)

I personally play a Drow, and yes, it goes off all the freakin time. Then again when you are spamming duelist's flurry you have damage ticks going off often enough that even if it was 5% you would probably be guarenteed to have a really high uptime.

On a class like rogue with fast hitting attacks like flurry, it's up fairly often.
