So right off the bat, this might be me just being terrible or something, but for the life of me I CANNOT 1v1 a decent Wizard... EVER. I am specd for high damage on single target. No matter what I do I just cannot close the gap to the Wizard. Even if I get the jump on them and stun them immediately after they recover they are blinking all over the place, of course I am dodging to get closer or using my leap ability. Once I get in there I get pushed back and have nothing to close the gap accept DEFT STRIKE, but its at a 13 sec cooldown. Once I get choked its game over for me because they DPS me down to nothing.

Maybe I just need to get better at playing my class, but any kind of advice or tips would be great, thank!

Also below are my primary abilities. My intent is to do high damage to single targets, focusing on high crit and lifesteal.

Ability Layout:

Q: Dazing Strike
E: Lashing Blade
R: Deft Strike
L Mouse: Sly Flourish
R Mouse: Cloud of Steel

Problem I have with that is it takes away one of my encounter abilities just to deal with Wizards. Idk if its worth removing for a stun break.

I do all the time lol.. It's very easy to deal with a CW, use smoke bomb lashing blade Impossible to Catch. With skillful infiltrator and first strike. Rogue's dps are crazy so you don't need to run so many dmg spells. He can only dodge 3 times, and open up with stealth into impossible to catch so you don't get cc or take any dmg. Or if you can open with a lashing blade, but its hard to do on CW cause they can dodge it very easy.

Fyi i am the best rogue on dragon server

So your saying use impossible to catch, which has over a 15second cooldown, then use a daily that dazes the CW...? The 3 dodges they have are pretty significant, especially when we have 2. And to reiterate they have their push ability that throws you back pretty far... If that is indeed the fix, do you have anymore details on it?

i dont understand why everyone wanna win each one 1 vs 1..
pvp is not about 1 vs 1.. pvp is teamwork.. u never should try be hero and solo ppl. this is not point of pvp in this game
you get 300 points from capping.. so work as team stop trying take ppl on ur own and then come to forums and cry that class is weak or op

What I do is run behind him (rogues' speciality), stealth->CC and use whatever nuke I have equipped, then get out fast to wait for CDs and check for enemies. Unless you're in a really bad position, you'll disrupt the guy long enough for your mates to get some points.

Granted, very rarely should there be a situation where you are 1v1 for more than a few seconds, so if you see that you cannot kill your target fast, it's better to run and get healed up rather than die. If you're lucky u'll have 2-3 people chasing you instead of taking points. A win at 5-2 K/D is better than a loss at 10-10.

Impossible to Catch might be good when they have 3-4 CWs, but otherwise not my favourite. CCs are golden in PvP in my opinion, I really prefer having Smoke bomb to Deft Strike for example (possibly because Deft Strike sometimes bugs out).

And don't forget gear matters! If you go 100% power/crit and PvE traits, you will be demolished by someone playing a PvP spec most of the time.

basically i use Deft strike lashing and impossible to catch. Duelist flurry and cloud of steel lurkers and bloodbath. Ill start out just running up to him not in stealth and try and get a DF off then i go stealth impossible then when he darts i roll once he darts then i deft strike he darts then i roll and own him with a DF or lashing. If blood bath is just on 1 person its crazy damage... and they cant target you to do anything and if they try and run you stay on them like white on rice. Its very rare that i die to a CW 1v1. maybe if im half hp haha.

This isnt totally true... theirs 3 points, and 5 players on a team. Usually having one guy steal a point is a good move, ESPECIALLY if they can handle 1v1, they'd need to send 2 guys to deal with 1 guy on 1 point and that leaves you with more people than them for the other points.

Realistically, 5 people cant stick together and cover all 3 points.

Ok found a fix... Started using Shocking execution to close gap and do MASSIVE damage to them. I think I just figured it out. Thanks for all the help!
