I think that I speak for majority of players when i say that AD prices is shops are way too much.
Level 3 Riding training cost over 2 mill AD not mention rare gear is priced 500K+ for one peace
This economy will only turn players away.Get normal price like in STO with dilithium ot give us AD for quest rewards.more for dungeons and other events.
And one more thing.Better loot from dungeons.HAMSTER gear from bosses only make people too avoid dungeons
1. There needs to be some sort of gear you need to grind your *** off for. For NW it's mounts.
2. I don't see any problems with dungeon drops, the problem are the items themselves. It's pretty frustrating running around in greens because all the blues have s***ty stats on them. Like gazillions of defence and deflection and no power on wizard's gear. Gear available for tokens (manticore etc.) is equally useless.
3. The economy isn't stable yet. There's not enough high level characters, there's a lot of strange prices on the market. Give it a month, it will stabilise itself.
Best regards,

How do you farm AD? I am only level 20, but I haven't seen AD as drops, quest rewards or dungeon rewards. Beeing expensive might be ok, but not of a currency you can only get doing 3 dailies.
1) For less than the cost of a boxed game, you can buy a T3 mount from the Zen store that all your characters get. You can also sell stuff in the AH at the inflated prices you commented on.
2) AH prices are set by players, so this will correct itself fairly soon. On Dragon, most of the T1-level epics sell for 5-30k, so this is very affordable.
3) I have been getting/seeing a lot of epic drops even in Epic Cloak Tower, and you can get up to three chests and will often get a guaranteed (not rolled on) epic piece. Gearing up so far has been much easier in Neverwinter than in any other MMORPG I have played. (And PvP gear is super fast to get as well.)

You get 1000 AD for every skirmish you do, when it is Skirmish event. You could reasonably make a level 8 character (takes a bit over an hour), then use it whenever the event takes place. If it's a GF, you should be able to get 5-6 runs in during the hour, and by the time you outlevel the Blacklake skirmish, you probably made 30-40k AD. (I am not sure if this is necessarily efficient, but it is a way to get some base capital which you can then use to buy stuff cheaply on the AH and resell it with profit.)
You get ADs from doing dailies, from praying (first few times per day), selling items in the AH and tips from other players for your Foundry quests.
Yes, the mounts from the Zen store are account-wide (the companions are not). In the Zen store, it says "reclaimable for each character". If there's a T3 mount you like and you play multiple characters, I think this is a good investment (better than paying 2M for each). Also, there is the Guardian founder pack still -- it comes with a T3 mount and T3 companion for all your characters, plus 600 AD, an extra character slot and other stuff. I'd probably get that for $60 if I wanted a mount ($40). The 600k AD alone have a value of about 1500 Zen ($15) right now.

That alt method you mention is not playing the game, it's playing the system.
I am not asking for the best way to get a mount, I catually paid for it. I am saying, there should be a reasonable way to get it while playing. A way of progressing in the game by playing, instead of paying, or doing some alt trick.
Progression is a big part of mmo's fun. This system takes it away imo. I don't have money problems, my problem is it looks the system they have takes the progression feel away from the game.

Daily quests, some professions, trade on AH, pray to the gods etc.

It gets even better. Just do the math of how much ZEN you can buy with that 2.7M AD that a Rank 3 riding skill would cost for a SINGLE character. 3000 ZEN gives you a rank 3 mount for EVERY character you have.
That alt method you mention is not playing the game, it's playing the system.
Possibly, but you asked how to farm them, and that would be one way. I don't do this because I don't make throwaway characters, and this seems pretty dull, but it is method (which actually benefits others too since it speeds up queues).
I don't feel it is hard to make ADs. I did buy 15M at 500:1 during headstart and still have the 2.6M AD I got from the founder packs, but spent none of them and since headstart and now, I think I made about 1.5M simply by playing the game and doing very light AH trading. In the long run, this will be harder, but then player-set prices for everything will be lower as well. Upgrading mounts will be a static expense, same with the Cat and such, but I don't think it's necessarily bad to have some long term goals to work toward to.
You can speed things up by spending money, but honestly, it almost spoils the game experience a bit, because it also means to get sooner to a point where there are no dreams and goals left.

If only they made the fashion outfits reclaimable. but then id probibly spend a fortune on dyes so that every outfit i had was colour coded for each char. like i do with the regalia. of course then id have to buy more bankslots for all my extra outfits. id also be a lot less picky about which outfits i buy with zen. as it is now ive only bought cortazan cause i figured each pease for a different char then found out that m clerics bangs covered it.... well at least i dont have to dye it now.

Ways to generate AD:
Invocation
Selling useful drops on the AH (Residuum at 750-1000AD/each as your buyout price will make it sell fast on Dragon), pre-50 gear (except pants/shirt) is generally not in the "useful" category unless it has a unique look.
Leadership profession level 4+ has tasks that generate AD. The level 4 one is a 2 hour task that gives 200AD, some of the level 18+ tasks give 1200AD or more.
Dailies generate more AD at higher levels.
Skirmish Hour.
And this comming weekend looks like it'll be Double AD Weekend.
If only they made the fashion outfits reclaimable. but then id probibly spend a fortune on dyes so that every outfit i had was colour coded for each char.
If the outfits were reclaimable, I would have spent the money to get the bars for the jester's set already! But it's essentially $150 for the three parts (assuming the boxes don't yield any) and I feel this is too much for just one character.
Do you know if dyes transfer if you change the appearance of a item and use a dyed piece as the "source"? If the dyes are copied, I will probably fork over the cash to look less factory-manufactured.

Yeah, I am only in the level 20s - just turned level 22. For me - and it seems others - talking about Astral Diamonds is way unreasonable.
you farm AD by running events.Skirmishes, dungeons, sometime pray too Astral god( or whatever) every hour and later you can send mercenery on missions too escort caravans too give you 200-300 AD
But for T3 mount you need level 3 riding training that cost 2 mill AD
like a freaking Ferrari
Or you check the AD/Zen exchange rate and see if it can't be cheaper. Let's say the exchange rate is 250:1. A T3 mount in the Zen store costs 4000 Zen (and is for all your characters, unlike upgrading, which affects only one mount for one character). At 250:1, you only need 1M AD to get 4000 Zen. If you did this right now, at 380:1, you would need 1.52M AD, which is still less than 2M for an upgrade. So no matter how you look at it, upgrading a mount is inefficient.

The Mount Taining book will always be more expensive (when bought from the vendor) than converting AD to Zen and buying a Tier 3 Mount can be (until they introduce a Tier 3 mount for more than 4k Z at least).
I'm just really saddened by the fact that you absolutely CANNOT do anything solo lategame when it comes to farming. Obviously you can queue for stuff but that means you're doing PuG group play, I would really love to just go somewhere, kill or farm something and get AD's out of it.

they don't want everyone getting everything in the first month. if the prices were low everyone would get stuff sooner, get bored sooner and leave. in the beginning, lol a week ago?, that first couple of gold seemed like sooo much, now my main burns through stacks of greater potions and still makes loads of gold, 6 months from now maybe 2.7 million ad won't seem so bad because you will maybe gain other ways to earn it as time goes by

The daily Foundry quest awards 4000 AD at 60. I have also seen people offer AD for gold. (T2 epics is pretty taxing on the budget right now). You can also create a Foundry quest and get ADs from tips. This, too, is a solo activity.
It's a MMO, though, so playing with people is part of the game. In WoW, you won't get end game gear by solo playing (a few items that are BoE, if you farm gold very intensively). And if you only play solo, I don't see any need for AD or Zen anyway. If you could easily get AD, especially solo, it would just invite the bots.
If you don't enjoy playing in PUGs, why not look for a friendly guild?

You can also earn AD through the leadership profession. There are several crafting recipes that give you 100-400 AD for no effort what-so-ever. You get your 9 slots unlocked and I think you can earn something like 1800 AD/1-2hours just through the professions per character.
They really schould do Prices like in some other good games like "LOL"..they make alot money and everyone is happy. But to pay for a Mount 40$ or more LOL? Way to overpriced.
I don't understand why there's an exchange in the game at all, honestly. No developer in their right mind would think that players would sit around farming millions of AD just to get a mount, and so I'm just curious what it's purpose is? Did they really just implement it so they could disingenuously say that you can get everything in the game for free? That can't be the only reason, can it?

I made about 2M AD since the beginnng of the headstart on the 25th. That's more than a T3 mount right there. And I didn't even try, this was just light AH stuff. There are folks who made 10, 20 and more M AD by playing the AH in the same time. It's the same as, say, in WoW. No one who had millions of gold was actually farming materials or any other stuff. It was all AH playing.
You can get everything in the game for free and it takes less effort than it may seem.
You can do dailys and get up to 24k diamonds a day! so if a mount is 2 million AD it'll only take you...83.33 days to get that mount =D...
People that say you can earn everything in game and not spend a dime are people that are abusing current whacked out AH prices, getting epic loot from dungeons and selling them which i believe they fixed... so... for those that didnt abuse that system while it was active, they are now stuck with wondering how to afford all the aburd prices.

You can sell 5 things for $5. Or you can sell 1000 things at $2. It's not rocket science.

The answer is... with cold hard cash...
Not really. You can farm AD with leadership profession as well. Not to mention you can run dailies on multiple characters. Getting AD is not that particularly hard in this game. I've sold numerous green items on the AH for 100-1000 AD a piece. Its not that hard to get it if you just play the game.

You can refine up to 24k rough diamonds per character per day. There is nothing in the game that stops you from making millions of AD per day in the AH, through tips, or by trading with other players. The limit keeps out the professional farmers and the bots.
Of course they would rather you supported the game instead of never paying anything and only using up the resources. You can get everything by just playing the game, but freeloading isn't as fast. Same as in real life, by the way. You can refuse to get a job, make excuses why that is so, and get welfare money. You will survive just fine, but there won't be much money for luxury stuff and you have to save up much longer in order to be able to afford something you really want. Or you can get a job, work seven or eight hours a day and have plenty of money to buy nice things for yourself. The choice is yours, like here, too. You can't have it both ways.
