Foundry reviews - with video.

I wanted to start doing foundry reviews using the wonderful medium that is video. However, I wanted to know everyone's opinions here and voice my own fears.

1st: I don't want to spoil any twists or secrets that the creator tried so hard to M. Night Shamalama into their quest.

2nd: I won't be putting a bunch of reading in the video because well, no one wants to watch me read. This, again, corresponds with the no ruining the story.

3rd: I fear that the video will be all about combat with a bit of review and constructive criticism thrown in. I most likely will have two other friends reviewing the quests with me, which will result in hilarious commentary. Because of three people playing the quest the difficulty of the quest will be most likely skewed. Unless of course it was meant for 3+ players.

There are a few other concerns but tell me what you think. I would also like to get peoples permission to do reviews. I don't want to do any reviews/criticism/advice when said person doesn't want it.

There are a few kinks to be worked out still but overall I feel like this will be great publicity for those who want it.

Commentary videos and well known "Let's Plays" are often welcomed by many YouTube viewers. I think it's good idea but only if you want, you like it and you enjoy it.

If you think your videos will be boring because of fight, search for "let's plays" from Diablo III and see how many people saw them.

Anyway, I think you shouldn't just avoid story in videos, because sometimes it's funny and can make your party to have a big LOL in video. Commentaries and Let's Playes are about fun while watching someone enjoy his/her play.

My opinion: do like 3-5 videos about different quests, put links/embeds onto forums and see how community will respond. I'd enjoy that :)

I sure enjoy watching LPs from engines of other kind of games (Zelda, Mario) that go around UGC, so i'd def. enjoy watching people play foundry quests in an LP, that'd be really nice.

I think its a great idea, but add to it a little. Put up a very simple website maybe a quick wordpress or something that you can list your videos and link to the youtube, something where you can put a link to it in your in game reviews so the foundry author and go through, see your commentary and more specifically see the bugs you found physically so he has a better idea how to fix it!
