Burning Shard of Elemental Fire not working as a weapon??!

Hi there,
I have the Burning Shard of Elemental Fire control wizards orb equiped in the correct slot but whenever I try to cast an At Will, Encounter or Daily spell I get an error message saying "You must equip a weapon" and nothing happens.
Looks like one of the best wizard weapons in the game isn't usable as a weapon... I'm sure it's a quick fix for someone on your team and it'll make a founder very happy.
