Common trend in bosses.

I'm hoping this is just low level stuff and it's different at higher levels. A common trend I see in bosses are you beat on them until a percentage of health and then adds spawn. Rinse and repeat.

Are bosses more complex later in the game?

    Depends on what you would call complex ^^
    All end bosses AFAIR use add waves. Different bosses have different attack paterns though.

    /e: as for complexity I as casual player can say it gets for me personally quite hardcore later on.
    There's for example boss fights with healer adds and you have to basically seperate Boss from healer adds.
    Or bosses who "zone" you in/out with long lasting AOE stuff.
