Best starter companion for CF?

Almost level 16 w/ my GF (Guardian Fighter - title is a typo)) so getting my companion quest soon. Which is better suited for CF? The cleric or control wizard as a companion?

I already have Dire Wolf from the founder pack so I don't need the dog.

    in caase it means guardan i'd take the cleric..in fact i'd take the cleric for every class except if youre a cleric yourself

    Cleric is really the obvious choice. If you don't mind chugging pots and want to experiment a bit, the Renegade Wizard might be an interesting choice.

    Well, the only wizard I'm contemplating the wizard is due to the extra dmg and maybe control. The cleric seems obvious, but not sure if it is the wisest (at least, for the first companion).

    didnt know that, havent played the cleric myself so far...well i guess everybody needs the cleric as walking camp fire :-)

    I started w/ the Cleric, got her to 15, but picked up the wizard to use while my Cleric was training. I hope they add something like a ranger or illusionist companion, (the latter being someone who can confuse enemies).
