Great Weapon Fighter feels weak.

I haven't been playing the game for too long. I've tried out all of the different classes to find which one that I would enjoy playing the most. Out of all the classes in the early game I feel that the great weapon fighter feels like the weaker classs compaired to the others. With the character that holds a two handed weapon it feels like they should do more damage with each at will swing. I found that the damage output wasn't fitting with how the class should feel. Maybe it boils down to the fact that I'm not setting the character up right or something of that nature but, overall that was the class I was looking forward to more than the others but I am disappointed with how the play feels. Don't get me wrong I love the game so far and I'm having a lot of fun playing it I just would like to see the great weapon fighter feel more like a bruiser than someone who has to pick their battles more carefully.

She is a area attack specialist . Later on you can spec her out to single target if you want . Bur she is best at area damage . And the more baddies in the area the more damage she does . I like the GWF . It does require a lot of movement , especially in elite or boss fights.

The Great Weapon fighter is slower in terms of killing per hit, however, they do cut down groups of trash pretty easilly. So I think their 1 on 1 is long haul, but their 1 on many is better. Lots of AOE attacks later on.

The GWF fighter is serious AoE, a few good AoEs and most mobs in the Tower area are all dead in about 2s. You just need to know how the class works and play to its strengths. Its single target DPS is lacking at best, but the speed boost from the Tab skill can help immensely.

You also don't say what level your GWF is at or their stats. Level and build make a huge difference in how they can be played.

GWF specialize in AOE while the Rogue specializes in single target DPS. Your job in a party is to clear adds during boss fights. GWF seems to be able to offtank a bit too if you are geared and spec'ed toward it.

If you want AOE, go for an AOE CW. GWF is shameful, even when used correctly.

First thats not how the GWF is explained, if you read what cryptic says its a primary damage dealer /striker class, or thats how they make it sound. Ok but I can deal with the the poor or misleading description.

To the AOE explanation I keep hearing, Secondly at the lower levels at least the GWFs AOE damage is terrible. So saying that doesn't really make sense either. I'm just shy of 20 and I'm just getting to the point where my AOE damage is at a useable point to decent and thats stacking power on everything I possibly can. So basically I have to wait until higher levels so I can actually use my character as its intended. All the while CWs are decimating everything and Rogues have been doing 2k crits since level 10. That said some of the thing you get are nice. The knockdowns are cool and slam is pretty good. Use the knockdowns and time them right.

GWF Is by far the top damage dealer on the current t2 farmable level 60 dungeon (aka pirates). Rogues and wizards don't even come close to their AOE power house.

Maybe play the game instead of qqing and you'll see this. It's been said the GWF shines later on many many threads.

As for rogues and CW, the leveling after 40 is atrocious because they have low armor and mobs actually kill them. What goes around comes around. GWF on the other hand have is much easier as do clerics and tanks.

Oh Im playing, the only reason I'm here is because I'm at work right now and I cant play lol. Ive heard the same thing it just sucks its such a grind until then, especially when you hear about other classes having it relatively easy. Right now at 18-20 I'm consistently last in just about everything. I'm just hoping the payoff at the end is worth the effort.

I agree im level 15 now and im basically last in every dps chart and it takes time to kill single target enemy.

My GWF is currently level 40 and I used to think the class was complete HAMSTER at level 18 to 20. The fact of the matter is the class is simply weak before level 25ish. GWF class is getting insanely more powerful at my level with the ability to dish out tons of damage and compete in dps charts. Kill death ratio in PvP was horrible before level 25, now I am owning fools. Do not be sad young GWF, we snowball hard with levels. If they buffed the lower levels it would imbalance the late game.
