It weighs the blues a little better . I think because the blues have an extra set of stats . It doesn't always show since it could double or triple up on one .
Just like an item with '75 \Recovery' will get the recommended tag over an exact same item but with a roll of '60 Armor Penetration' for my TR. Either someone was lazy in providing the devs with proper algorithms to determine what mod is better for which class, or the devs had them but were too lazy to implement them.
Someone said they saw it was only looking at "value" of the item, so it didn't matter what the stats were, if the item was worth more, it was shown as recommended. I also guess it's not working as intended, because i've been recommended items that were level 20 for my level 40 at the time. Just ignore it, and look at stats.

Either way, it's lazy.
yep its just lazy coding, seems the weight for recoomended is on rarity, stats and sockets regardless if thet are appropriate for your class.
AC9
+210 power
+79 recovery
+90 crit
[defense slot]
What do these items vendor for? I'm going to assume they vendor for identical prices, since they are the same item. If so, kinda throws the "goes to whats worth more" theory.

Use your own judgement.

Agreed, but the tag shouldn't be there if it's blatantly wrong 50% of the time. Either implement it properly or leave it out of the full release, IMO.
Agreed, the system just said "Recommendation" still its up to you.

I do believe that is how it is done. Because nothing else makes sense.
