Best Companion for Cleric levelling and endgame?

I have been using the Dire Wolf or Renegade wizard for my companion so far, but was curious as to what other Cleric's experiences were with the other companions. I hear that The Ioun Stone/Cat is currently the best at end-game., but what is good for solo/group during the leveling process?

I like my tank for leveling. I even bought the Galeb Duhr for leveling but the free tank works well too. I use him when the Golem is training. When I pull a group/boss, the tank locks down the big guy while I take out the adds and then back on boss. I haven't had any issues as long as I keep the heals rolling. The Dire Wolf I got with the Guardian Pack has been shelved permanently.

For endgame I want the Cat for the stats. I only have 600k diamonds but will figure out a way to get more soon.

Cat is the best endgame. While levelling....just whatever besides healer, you hit 60 so quickly in NWO. Won't make much difference.

I used the wolf you get with the Guardian package and it was nice, especially because he has an "interrupt", the ability where he punts a mob three times backwards, which came in handy when mobs start healing or doing stuff that really hurts to get hit by.

In the end, though, the cat (980,000 astral diamonds) will be the best companion for cleric because 1) you get 100% of its recovery and critical stats, and 2) you can pop a rune on it to share its stats with the owner (I use one that gives me another 7% of its stats), so you get even more recovery and critical, and those are very vital stats for a cleric. 980,000 astral diamonds is a bloody steep price, however ... Especially considering the companion is just there for the stats, it doesn't attack or anything.

Without the Guardian package I would personally go for a DPS companion to help you kill mobs quicker whilst leveling. A tank pet would also be a nice companion, it can trivialise a lot of tougher fights, I assume.

It does but i'm ok with that :p Saves me the from having to chug pots and allows me to test out healing combos instead of just dpsing from the get go.

Some of the higher level solo dungeons are a bit of a pita without a tankish companion. Cat is great in epics but sometimes I still have to use the golem if we have no GF or if the GF is the kind that doesn't grasp I shouldn't be the one tanking the boss with him chasing ads around like some wild dps.
