Why the hell are the dyes on the ah so over priced 50k+ AD for dyes... yet the lock boxes are like 100+ AD weapons and armor is 5 AD to 300 AD for lvls 1-20 from what i have seen. i just find this to be stupid. isent 50k AD like 1000 in zen? or something close to that
50k AD is more like 100-150 zen atm, The reason prices may be high up is because founders got 2 million or 600k diamonds right off the bat, so there is a glut in the market, its also a reason why the exchange rate is in the upper 400s for 1 zen. Also lock boxes and greens drop like candy and the boxes can also be bought for 200AD, people just want to unload those.
Yep give it a few weeks the market will calm down usually all it takes is a a flood of items and everybody will start undercutting everybody else..I noticed this has already happened with the Inferno Nightmare mount (down to 1.5 mil after selling for as high as five mil) Of course The Twilight inferno is holding it's value at seven mil but that is a really rare reward.
Dyes do drop. They are bloody rare, but I have looted a blue dye, and one of my pug-mates got a red dye on a dungeon the other day. Rarer than snake shoes, but they do drop.

Could be why they are so pricey in the AH right now.
because a vendor sells the lock boxes for 200 AD .

The other big issue is that nobody really knows how to price most items on the AH. There is some baseline with the Zen Store items (e.g. dyes). For everything else it's a big unknown. Their valuation is unknown. Once the money supply (AD) stabilizes, market forces should start honing in the AD prices in the Auction House.

If you wanna look like a stud in Burberry, Saks, or Prada, you gots to pay the prices son...!
That, and players will gouge each other mercilessly in any online marketplace, even when the stake isn't the equivalent of real currency.
But when it IS? Holy Moley. Just look at EVE Online.

Yep, it's funny, i have friends who claim to hate the idea of pay to win, but i've always considered EVE, and yes i played it for a couple years, to be one of the biggest. It has that plex to isk thing, and i know people who sell the plex in insane amounts. Imagine if your mount here could be destroyed when you are out and about. They really shouldn't be technically priced higher than the AD to zen conversion of buying them directly is, but yet I see people doing this (and presumably actually selling them). Some players need to get smarter and realize what's overpriced and what isn't based on the zen exchange rate. There is always going to be a 'base' price on dyes (assuming all of them can be obtained via zen at any rate).

Another factor in Dye prices are that a certain group of player are extremely serious about their character's look. They have the same intensity as min-maxer players. These players will go to great lengths to ensure the character's look is just right.

Right now I have about twenty of those alleged drops on the AH for sell.
But keep in mind that a lot of people who bought Guardian AND HoTN pack will have 2.6million AD. They will want to offload that and get stuff.
I say wait a bit and the prices should start stabilizing.
Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.
