I keep trying to spawn some monster up on this second floor but it seems like they are eitgher not spawning or falling through the map...anyway to fix this?

Have to fix the "Y" position of them, usually I place an object there in 3D mode, then take the Y cord from that and add 1 to it... worked for me.
What I did (at least in test so far not publish) is make the spawn point higher than the floor so it "drops" to the 2nd floor. It is not ideal, but seems to work for me.
Hmmm he isn't falling through the map...he disappears when I make him the quest objective..
Make sure you don't have the 2nd option filled ("disappear when" I think that is what it is called) you have an option to "appear when" and you can choose some option like after certain progression etc etc and just don't make him disappear.
If it is a spawn kill, then drag the "kill" option and drag UNDER the talking NPC tree (under story) then assign the kill to the NPC you already placed on the map.
