Duels... why... not...??

I'm honestly just very curious... why can't we challenge other players to duels?

Was the idea ever brought up? And if so... why do you think they decided not to implement dueling?

I would really love to see dueling in this game... even for role playing purposes!! (Even though I really just want to beat my friends and boast about it in their face)

Yeah I thought it was common knowledge that mostly if not all MMO's have some sort of duel mode...

Even if we make some noise about it though, would they listen?

I'd love to have the option of duels in the game as well, as long as there's an option to ignore them. I'm all for giving me what I want, but I realize lots of people wouldn't like that, so I'm conscientious about those people and an option to auto-ignore duels is a must.

Great idea. I think this is something they'll implement in the near future.

As long as there is a toggle that allows you to turn of duel requests, I'm fine with that! I found it super annoying in other games where people would keep challenging you until you put them on ignore.

I like duelling at times, just not while questing. ;)
Unsure about skills and feats? Check the Master List of Class Builds!

    I'm glad you can't duel.
There's barely anything more obnoxious than wandering into town and have a dozen morons with ADD spam your screen with duel request windows.

There are no duels because pvp is imbalanced and it would become quickly noticeable. Rogues destroy everything as the DPS class. Where the developers failed in balancing is making the rogues able to tank too much damage. Try taking a GWF vs a rogue in pvp and see how you do nothing in comparison to a rogue. The rogue can face tank a warrior without using stealth or stuns and still kill you. I tried to kite a rogue as a GWF when I was disarmed/stunned or whatever for 7-10 secs and it turns out rogues can spam dps projectiles as well. Devs imo need to buff other classes or nerf rogues.

To put it in perspective, at level 18 doing pvp as GWF, I put my attribute points into strength and dex. All my gear is Armor pen, crit, and power. Pure dmg build I go against a rogue and can barely do 10% dmg to his health one vs one. Definition of imbalance.

Done right, You'd have to put up a flag that you accept dueling requests to even see them. Maybe additional title of Duelist. If you set it to show, you can challenge and get challenges. Changing the title with enough won duels, i.e. veteran duelist, master duelist. So that other challengers can see your experience at it and issue/accept challenges armed with that knowledge. Give glory from fight too. More, if you win a duel against higher tier duelist.

Also make duel end when another drops to knee, so no finishing kicks there. Also no potions would be nice.

as a GF i can rip rogues to ribbons without barely scratching my armor

But yeah, dueling would be great, or dare i say just an FFA map after... say lvl 15?

Agreed. Devs, if you add dueling, please a auto duel decline option.

I would love dueling. I think there should be a special arena in Protector's Enclave where you have to duel - to prevent being spammed while walking around the city. You should be able to duel anywhere outside of the city though...

Party based combat - meaning devs are trying to balance based on groups. In 1v1 too many people would scream OP. certain classes just wouldn't be able to stand up to others. You should only be able to duel the same class with the same gear score. Only then would build and skill actually be the decider.
