Stumped with rooms with separate floors

I'm having trouble trying to figure out, assuming there is a way, how to attach or even place objects on second floors of rooms (like the large crypt room with the stairwell in the middle). I am wanting to put rooms on the second floor but cannot. Is it even possible? I know the premade rooms are a bit restricted compared to the do it yourself rooms players can create. Please and thank you ahead of time.

Not possible far as I know, I tried and gave up. Perhaps in a foundry update later they will have a system added for that. I would like to create my own multi level maps without having to transition into them myself.

Doesn't work like that, at all. In the current version of the Foundry, the only way to have rooms with multiple floors is either using a pre-fab map or custom building one. It sucks, but, that's just the way it is right now.
My quest was deleted in July of 2013. There were no issues, it had not violated any rules. Was deemed a bug. That quest is still missing.

Custom build it. I'm starting to use custom built houses all over the place (especially in Palisade's Horror). They aren't too hard, and though multi-floor ones are time consuming, there not too hard either. Run my Palisade's Horror (not the whole thing if you don't want) just to see what I did there.

Not to hard to build. Take a look at my quest (below in Signature) to see how I did it. I have a 3 floor house with a cellar.

The only way to place objects that can't be moved in 3d edit mode (like NPCs) is by manually editing the y-axis. Simple trick: Place a dummy object where you want your NPC to be (moved via 3d edit mode), write down the X, Y and Z values, then enter those into the NPC's properties box in 2d mode.
