Every Loading Screen - Server Not Responding

honzohonzo Member Posts: 64 Arc User
edited May 2013 in Bug Reports (PC)
Every time I zone into a new dungeon/area, the loading progress stops at about 2% and the "Server Not Responding" warning comes up with a timer. After about 20 seconds I get kicked back to the login screen.

Once I re-log I appear in the new zone I travelled to. This means I have to re-log EVERY time I want to change zones or go into an instance. =(

It's still happening... No idea why. Maybe something to do with internet permission? Seems like the connection to the serves times out if I don't zone into any area within like 1 minute of logging on. Its been a very slow and annoying beta weekend so far lol.

This happens to me sometimes in Champions Online. Haven't hit it here yet, though I did just hit a tremendous wall of lag that forced my character to run in a straight line until I logged out = (

What's happening here is the game is trying to load stuff that didn't already get downloaded and patched. The game launcher is set to on demand download, so until you step foot into a new area the game doesn't start to download it. If it takes too long to download the new area you'll get booted, but by the time you got back in it had finished.

The way to fix this is go to the Launcher, click options and disable the on-demand patching, this way it will download all the game files upfront(which will take longer) but it won't do that anymore as you are playing.

This is exactly correct. The server isn't hung, its waiting for a huge zone patch, which should be very visiable in the top left corner. (Patching 54 files etc)

When you uncheck patch on demand in the launcher settings, it will prompt a massive patch (many GB)

After that, and entering the game again, there should be almost no hanging

The same problem happens to me also. I've tried disabling on-demand patching but it didn't fix the issue.

Have you opened the required ports for the game? It might be a firewall issue.

Same thing here, I have disabled on-demand patching so I had to patch 2GB+ but it still crashes every time I try to move between areas. Is there a fix for this?

Having the same problem. Tried all the suggested fixed I've found around the board: Compatibility Mode, Run as Administrator, Forwarded the ports, forced update, forced validation, forwarded the ports, flushed the DNS, re-installed the game. None of them made any difference at all.

I can also say for sure that it is NOT that the game tries to download files thanks to the on-demand patching, it happens EVERY time it loads even when visiting areas previously visited and there is no indication whatsoever on-screen that it is downloading anything. The meter simple stops at the beginning and after 2-3 seconds a message pops up at the top: "SERVER NOT RESPONDING (X.XXs)" and I get put back to the login screen after a couple more secs(see screenshot).

Any other tips and I'll be willing to try them, but it seems more like an error with the client (that is affected by the local computer's software/hardware) that needs to be somehow fixed by a patch :/

Ye I have the same problem. The game works great except for I can't load any area without server not responding and being sent to login screen. I have disabled the in-game patching and patched the game fully from the launcher. This did not work.

    Please fix this.

I was having the same problem every single time I was changing areas. I did try the Disable on-demand patching with no success. However it stopped after I changed the proxy from None to US in the options menu within the launcher. So far it has worked for a day with no "server not responding" messages.

YES! Setting it to US proxy worked for me. Thanks

Well, what do you know, it worked! I didn't think of trying to add the proxy as when I tried it when I first launched the game it wouldn't even load anything at all. But now I set it to EU proxy and it worked fine. Great to have a fix for this! :)
