I have this same exact problem. It's happening on every character for me. I've relogged, made sure it wasn't a hardware issue, and reinstalled. Nothing works for me.

Likewise tried changing the movement keys, rebinding them nothing fixed it :(
thought id rush a video so its noticed sooner than later as not everyone has this problem.

It's a really silly bug too. I have no idea how it only affects some people and not others. I literally logged on and found myself walking into a wall and not being able to stop/run straight.

Do you have another computer to log into the game on to see if it is computer specific for some odd reason?

    Greetings,

A guild member of mine had this problem with auto attack on all the time. The only way he fixed it was to load default keybinds and re-do the keys.

I have a problem where my W just stops working, and I wont be able to walk/run again with W until i push it again.

So im walking/fighting forward with W, I can still move left right and back but W just stops until it push it again.

I had this on two different systems and on both it was an gamepad controller that was plugged in trying to override the movement keys. Unplugging it and rebooting the game worked on both counts.

I've actually got a similar problem going, only its not W, and its not so much that the keys quit working, but it is an issue that started with the keybinds and has grown to involve combat & movement. The problem I'm facing is my defaults were all changed for joystick, which I don't have drivers for and don't even own and so should not have been set as default for my keybinds, causing problems when I do change/try to change the keys back with combat, because now my character can't stop attacking, at all, unless I force it to do an invalid attack, and even then the second it gets a target it starts right back up without my say so.

Someone recommended deleting ui_settings.txt from the Neverwinter folder, except I can't find that ui_settings.txt. I'm debating reinstall now, to see if that fixes the problem, but it's never a guarantee. Honestly this only cropped up as a problem for me directly after yesterdays server crash.
