Foundry Quests forcing themselves out of Quest Journal

Recently, me and a friend have been facing this issue along with some others with Foundry quests.

One of the quests I made suddenly glitched itself up by vanishing from the Quest Journal, making it impossible to manually drop it or pick it up again, since it would register itself as being already accepted in the Quest Journal. The workaround I did for this was having someone pick the quest and party up with me, and complete the quest up to the point where it was glitched up. This solved the issue, but it would be very annoying if this happened to someone. And yes, I tested the quest before I published it, and it was working fine.

Another issue was with a Featured Quest: one of my friends was working on it, and when he logged in today, it simply forced its way out of his Quest Journal, forcing him to start all over again. This was really frustrating because it was a rather long quest, and we fear that this will happen often in the future.

I've posted this in the Bug Report section, but the influx of posts there is really high, and it was being sent to the second page within minutes. So I decided to post it here, since it is also a Foundry-related issue.

Has anyone else faced those kind of bugs with the Foundry as well?

I've seen this happen with both of my own quests occasionally. This especially seems to happen when returning from a custom map to a Cryptic adventure zone, at which point the quest will disappear from the journal and be impossible to proceed with, even if you know what to do. You can't pick it up again because the game insists you've already got it in your journal. Typically this is resolved by relogging or zoning a few times.

I've also had the issue appear at the end of The Lanaar Legacy. The player talks to the final NPC, ends the conversation in the proper way, and then nothing happens. The chest next to the NPC is supposed to be activated so the player can pick up his reward, but it doesn't happen. I've only seen this occur once, but I've had reviews that indicate some other players have seen it happen as well.

Well, that seems like a huge issue for me. It's not fair to punish players by wasting their time and effort they put on working their way through a long quest by denying any rewards to them just because "the game feels like it"

I really hope this issue is resolved ASAP!

Just happened to me trying to test my latest publish, which worked fine every time I tested before that in Live.

Happens when i run your quest as well Jeden, which explains the low play count. I think this has something to do with going from a custom map to a NW map. Because people used to have my quests drop out of their books when they finished mine and went to collect the reward.

I used to go from the custom built Tiaga's home, to the enclave market for the reward chest. This would cause the quest to drop out of their book and then they couldnt complete it until it randomly came back.

I think the solution might be to "Once you go custom don't go back" kind of thing for now.

A story driven quest, with a fun and challenging amount of combat, that takes you into the world of Planescape, carefully hand crafted by me.

Which is odd, when it happened to me the first time, i switched to an alt, and it worked fine...but that alts keybind's were all jacked up. Something wonky going on. I think this has been an issue since the Foundry Beta, but I did put two and two together. I used to have it set up where when you left the office you got the world map, but if players clicked Protectors Enclave instead of the custom map on the world map, same thing would happen. Going to change it all tonight and posted another bug report on the actual bug forums.

Any news about this issue ?

I spent 5 hours trying to solve that problem after publishing and finally found this thread on google.

We have a major bug here :(

Yeah, this is a major bug that has apparently been in since Alpha, according to the older testers here. It happens when transitioning into Neverwinter Adventure Maps, and, yes, it is solved by zoning back and forth a few times. The problem is that most players won't do that or realize it. It means you can't really do much in the open world, which cripples quite a bit of the possibilities of a quest and forces users to be "locked" into a Foundry once they start it instead of doing it alongside normal quests.

So far there hasn't been any word from Cryptic on a fix, despite it being one of the biggest bugs in the Foundry system so far. No idea on how long it will take, but I know I have several quests I won't be able to complete until it's done. I can't even get any plays on my current ones due to it. :\
