It seems like almost the entire point value comes from sitting on the cap nodes or actually capping. This is fine for melee and frontline specs, however this is terrible for anyone playing support or ranged.
With my clerc I often hang back to heal.. I do not stand right on the node. My Wizard is even worse, the maps encourage you to use the elevated areas to your advantage.. but if I use them I miss out on all the captures.
I can end a match with the lowest score, but with the most kills and assists. Obviously I am not aimlessly roaming around the map, it is far to small for that and all the action takes place at the nodes. I am doing what I shoudl be doing, which is backing up my team, healing, controlling, aoeing, etc.

I hear ya, I play melee and I still agree. The scoring system does need work. It seems like it's just a basic system they put together as a place holder. I'm sure once they have time to improve it they will make it so people get rewards for doing what they are supposed to be doing.

I agree also. It leads to individual cheesy attempts to score points than play as a team for the win.
PVP needs a major evolution in this game. The maps/objectives are very weak. Even simple combinations of objectives like in Rift PVP work quite well.... this is very vanilla.
