Editing Protector's Enclave In Foundry?

Hey, so I've been messing around in the Foundry and I wanted to make a quest where Protector's Enclave get's attacked. To do that I wanted to get a Protector's Enclave map and do things like add enemies and such. So my first question is: Is that possible in any way? And if it isn't I would like to suggest to PW/Cryptic that they should add a Protector's Enclave map to the premade maps that you can edit so that we can be more creative and make truly epic story-lines in the Foundry.

Don't recall if PE was one of the maps, but there are lots of PE building blocks in the details list. Trouble with the premade maps is you can't edit the detail already in them. So if you wanted to cause a bit of damage to the buildings or something, it wouldn't be possible.

Though my biggest issue with the Foundry so far is that there is no terrain editing. All the terrain is premade and most of it taken from existing adventure zones, which dramatically hurts the freedom to do over land adventures.

I agree, and just to refresh your memory, PE is not one of the maps they provide. I think that they should add the maps to the Foundry before they get compressed (Un-editable) even though it means longer loading times it also means much better player content. I think it would be in their interest to allow the use of all of the fully made maps before they become compressed because then the community could add days and days of epic campaigns without the devs having to work on each quest themselves.

I think it's one of the biggest gripes Cryptic has with it too.

They want to add a player driven heightmaps. Don't worry it'll come.

As for the question at hand, I think PE might have been one of those too big to keep maps. It was just too big and resources heavy.

And it's not only about longer load times but it's also MUCH heavier on the server strain. There are a lot of limits on Foundry Missions at the moment because of the server strain alone. In time some limitations will likely be relaxed as the initial surge fades but for now even some of the Silverstar content had to be re-worked to get it functioning :)

But that aside, I know personally there are creative ways around such issues. It's much easier to make a place an attacked mess than it is to make it pretty ;)

:D Yeah, I started a poll on the Foundry section of the forums. Just to bring attention to it. I think it could be managed by their servers, this IS PWE and Cryptic we're talking about here, they're not exactly indie. I do understand the server strain might be an issue but I believe the rewards would outweigh the problems.

I promise you the decision to take out any of the large maps was not taken lightly.

By all means state your disaproval and suggestions but the day they informed the Silverstars they had taken support out of some of their resource heavy and large maps was not a post which they seemed happy to write. It had a solemn tone of regret and sadness.
It's not something which they light-heartedly took out.

In fact I believe one of the more beloved (yet somewhat unknown) quests relied of Mt Hotenow's maps and it was basically destroyed by the change.

As I've been saying a lot recently: Rule #1, if you think it is easy/simple it's not.
In this case you accept it's not easy or simple but you are saying that because they are a big company it's feasible. That isn't necessarily true. :)

:) Yeah I understand, I actually program games as a hobby and I certainly understand how difficult some things can be that seem to the consumer like they would be extremely simple to implement. I think I have continued to reply because even though I know it is unlikely, I am clinging to that little bit of hope that they can figure out a way to do it. :)
