Greycloak starting items.. WAY too strong?

There's "cool, this is a fun leg up" and there's "one-shot everything that so much as looks at you." It seems to be that the starting greycloak items are WAY more the latter than the former, and it makes them feel kinda lame and overpowered, not neat. :(

It only one shots things for a couple levels (maybe an hour of gameplay at most). I replaced it at level 17 with something better. It was a nice boost for the start, but thats it.

I think part of it is because your weapon is such a major source of your damage output.

I think it kinda makes sense - pretty much everyone who gets them already did the lvl1-20 areas loads of times in the beta weekends, this makes us get through it faster.

Not everyone has played a bunch in the beta weekends, and 15 levels is a fair jump in terms of someone just starting out. It's way too strong as a 'starting weapon,' and really just makes the initial part of the game for someone who *hasn't* already done it a dozen times pretty snooze-filled.

Nah, all the stuff you one shot, you'd be be two shotting (three at most), if not also one. Then it levels out before it becomes obsolete.

also nobody says you "have" to use it. if you want to go at it slow paced just don't equip that weapon, when you'll be rolling your twentieth character you'll enjoy the speed boost at the start. if it was any weaker you'd replace it in 10 minutes and people would wonder what did they even buy it for.

    +1

Also, the level cap is 60, level 1-15 are not meant to take several days (of actual playing time) to get through. Furthermore, if it really bothers you that you're having a slightly easier time with easy content, you can always just use the drops you get along the way instead. You're not forced to equip Greycloak's Legacy, it's an option. If it bothers you that others are having a slightly easier time with easy content, you're not going to find much sympathy for your position from those players.

Its only good upto about level 20 (depending on loot drops). IE good look drops you can replace it around 16ish bad luck and well your still be using it a fair bit later.

I replaced mine at 20. unlike WoWs totally OP legacy items, this one actually becomes useless (the enchant too) fairly quickly

So equip some green piece of junk and be done with it. This sounds like Rich People's Problems where everything is fine so they have to make up stuff to complain about. :/

If you're grouping, and other people are using it to clear pulls and skirmishes before you can act, it's less of a personal choice and one that affects the group. I duo with a rogue and it's impacted her because I can range or AE down pulls before she can do much - even with her own weapon. Next week when the rest of my friends play the game and I'm grouping with them on a new alt, I'll need to be careful to take it off to not make it too boring for them. I assume there are people who aren't making that decision.

I like the concepts of heirloom gear, but it just feels a bit wrong for a bunch of levels. Thankfully things eventually taper off, and yes, you can choose to not use the bonus ;)

It's just the weapon that is strong and you replace it with a green 20.

You're free to just not use it if it bothers you so much to be stronger for a little while.
