Paragon Paths?

Every class only has 1 Paragon path? I realize it's probably because its "open beta' and time did not allow for it. I personally see this as being one of the MAJOR class customization options, without it i feel that choosing any class is going to fall short of being MY character. paragon paths should have been more important than this silly point buy skill tree business IMHO.

my major concern is that i have not seen ANY source that has confirmed more paragon paths other than the window in game that states
More paragon paths coming soon
does anyone have any information or input on this?

I thought this to be mighty curious as well. It sort of obviates the whole point of having a paragon path if every character has to 'choose' the same one.

I'm sure that they will eventually add in some more paths, but at what price-point? 1000 zen?

Wasn't there more Paragon Paths in Beta Weekend 4, wonder why they would have removed them?

I wouldn't worry about it too much and look at it more optimistically with getting a free respec once they add other paragon paths.

Don't hold your breathe on that idea.doubt free respecs will be given out with new paths.

They most certainly will not. It is a free-to-play title, charging for things like respec and new character options is how they will make money.

They have already stated and shown in their other games that anytime they make a change to the class structure they offer a respec. This was stated many times in the beta forums and if no free respec would be offered in such a case a paragon choice then this game won't be making it very far.

I believe the Alpha testers are still under NDA and cannot discuss them.

Those are Paragon Feats, not Paragon Paths. Two very different things.

Paragon Paths are a fixed selection of post level 30 powers that help shape your character, once you select one Paragon Path you can't pick another without using a respec.

They gave free respecs in their other games, so there is no reason to believe it will be different here. New classes will also be free, which has been stated over and over.

I really just wish each class had at least 2 paths at launch. As it is now it really feels... idk... silly...i guess that they even bothered to put a place holder for them. I have no hopes that they are even going to release them "soon" as they are still working on those two other classes...

With a little luck they will release one extra paragon path for every current class and the new ones when the first batch of new classes are release, will see in 2 months or so... fingers crossed!

Really? Anyone know when that would be lifted? Surely it would be the 30th at the latest.

This is pretty common, though. Alpha NDAs tend to persist for a variety of reasons. (I don't know if this is the case here, but I've alpha tested a few games over the years and in most cases the NDA was never lifted.)

In BW4 they did a free respec due to slight changes. I would have to assume that if they added something as big as new Paragon Paths they would offer another free respec.

I wouldn't call "Completely revamping the entire power progression system" a 'slight change'.

They may have different groups working on different aspects of the game; so one team makes the new classes, while another team slaves away for paragon paths (and possibly looking at epic destinies).
Company size usually dictates this kinda stuff I'd wager, but developers split their human resources into teams to work on different game aspects at the same time.
So it probably is not like developing a new race robs us of time spent crafting a new class.

yeah that's true but priorities play a big part in it too and from the looks of it the new classes are higher priority than paragon paths so they have more resources allocated to that which would increase the time of one over the other.

We will be able to re choose a paragon path by respeccing correct?
