So...Minor/Major Injuries for dying

When do these actually start happening? I would have imagined around the 30s when I got my free injury kits out of the leveling box, but I died a few times in the 30s, and once as late as 37/38 and never got one. Got my character to 41 during BWE4 and never once had to deal with this. So to reiterate my initial question; When do you actually start getting injuries from death?

I would assume level 1, although it was intended for BW4 I dont think a single soul got injured. so I would assume it was intended for the weekend but didnt happen.
It did allow us to know of its existence though.

Are "injuries" going to work the same way in NW that they do in Dragon Age? That is, if you die or take an especially nasty hit, you have to use a kit to remove the damage, OR if you don't, you have slightly debuffed stats for a while?

At least I think that's how it works in DA, all I know is I use an injury kit every time I rez.

    Thanks in advance!

So, I went through the Dev tracker and found this post that says the following about it:
    • When player characters are killed in PvE, they will gain a random injury.
    • Injuries cause different effects, depending on the area that is injured. For example, a head injury may increase cooldown time on Encounter powers.
    • Major injuries will not occur below a certain level.
    • If players cannot afford (or do not wish to pay for) Injury Kits, they may rest at a campfire. 5 minutes at a campfire will remove one injury.
    Among a few other things.

So going off that, we should be able to get minor injuries at a low level from dying, but no major ones until that pre-determined level, and the debuff can vary between a few things.

So I guess the injury system just wasn't working properly in BWE4.

I will like to add here that the injury system is very true to its PnP version.

Check the magazine Dungeon #204 for how you can also implement this sytem in PnP and why you need it.

According to BW4 notes you can also recover from injuries by spending time at a campfire; at a rate of 1 injury per 5 minutes.

I have seen others ask, and I wonder myself: Does the drow racial reduce this? Would be nice for those of us who are prone to injuries (or like to take dirt naps)!

    Cheers!

Gonna feel a little like Tera. Group wipes, people in a hurry use their potions and then get annoyed at their cheap teammates...

I would guess it does as it would make more sense for Trance to reduce this time than just time it takes to heal to full life, given that the life regen is so fast.

And if not, it's a great suggestion! :)

I didn't get a chance to try the injuries in testing with a Drow, but I was wondering about the rest time too. After getting a few minor injuries stacked up, I could see where the injury kits were desirable. I know there have been other posts about what to spend gold/silver on...the kits are definitely an item to spend money on if you want to speed up the rate.

Disclaimer - My deaths were primarily in foundry quests which I found to be more challenging than the regular quests in case anyone wonders. I died very little (if ever) on the regular quests.

You're probably right. Here's to hoping the majority understand the roots of it and treat it like DnD rather than TERA. I get that time is valuable and people want to do the most with the least, but that doesn't mean there should be no penalties for being reckless. I would love for the overall community to prove that wrong though, as I do have hope! :)

the real problem is with the stupid high amount of health potions, unless you fall asleep or get 1 shot you should not get injured. ever.

Is this true of end level content as well. At 34, my only wipe/incomplete run happened due to a healer who leveled purely in PvP who joined for his first instance 4 levels under the content with gear 15 levels under. It can happen when you get a dummy, despite potions.

Sadly this is when I discovered another glaring issue: that you cannot requeue when you kick or have someone drop.

The group leader can request new players.
