Is this possible?

So I have only seen the foundry You Tube dev video and the foundry quests I have played so far, which were really fun btw. My question is

"Is it going to be possible for players to make a foundry quest that looks like the Temple of Elemental Evil for example, or other DnD adventures.?"

I was wondering what types of templates we have to work with. So far all the quests in the game look pretty much the same, or I should say the templates are the same.

The question is kind of multifaceted as it touches on many parts in the foundry and I'll do my best to answer it for you.

Ultimately yes, you can create whatever you want from the tools provided, this can either be done with a cryptic pre-made map or you can choose one that is completely empty and make one of you own. There are of course limitations. as follows.

Each map has a budget, this will most likely be changed later on once the Foundry has some tweaks to make it handle more.

    current budgets are

Details - 1500 (these are objects you put in your map like buildings, trees, decor, etc.) each detail asset has an affixed budget amount to it depending on how labor intensive it is to the editor, (going hog wild and putting in thousands of details can slow the editor to a crawl and render it unusable, so a line had to be drawn some where.) :)
actors - 500 individuals or 50 encounters (these are enemy encounters that you will place.)
    NPC - 50
    Doors - 20
    secret doors -20
    rooms - 50

So with a budget per map in mind you want to pre-plan out a path you want your players to follow and stick to it this will enable you to not go over budget while still keeping your map looking great in detail. While it's entirely possible to do a sandbox map and let the player roam anywhere it is also very budget intensive and you will most likely end up hitting you cap long before the entire area is detailed leaving it barren in places. (this will most likely be addressed later on once budgets are adjusted after launch.)

with this in mind you can create whatever you heart desires with the detail asses there are hundreds and you have access to almost everything the devs had making the game with more to come in the future!

So go for it! have fun! and mess around with what you can do!

As far as indoor maps go, there are many templates (we call them kits). For example, Human Interior, Cave, Small Cave, Dungeon, Crypt, etc.. Kit pieces are interchangeable as well, so you could enter a cave from an outdoor map, which then leads to a trapdoor up into a dungeon, which leads to an interior... One thing you cannot do, however, is enter a door from an outdoor map into an interior and then exit from that interior back into that same outdoor map, you will need to make a complete duplicate of the outdoor map, or exit to a different outdoor map.

If your talking about just building it yes, but Im not sure on the legality of it. Also it cant be featured if it is some one elses IP so you cant have a NPC of Drizzt and be featured, also you couldnt make say the Tomb of Horrors and have it featured.

2 excellent foundry quests that were made almost entirely by hand are: B2 Keep on the borderlands. (He hand made that Keep AND the caves!) Also "The Beast Within" (I hope that's the right quest I am thinking of) Totally handmade rooms. Mind blowing how he/she did it. There is an upstairs and downstairs all pieced together on an outdoor map! UNPOSSIBLE :P You won't be immediately amazed until you see what is available in the foundry and realize they hand built it all!
