All the shards are same, and just instances of the same server. It is like a single apple cut into three pieces. No shard is better for EU, and no shard is worse.

so will we be able to take other shards whit same char or it will be locked on one? since im bad luck person so i will most likely chose death or low populated shard

You create a character which you can only play on one shard. But you lock the character slot and the name (for your @handle) across all the shards.
So if you create IamKiller@warpet on dragon, you cannot use the name IamKiller on other shards, and your one slot out of two is booked for the other shards.
However, you can only play IamKiller@warpet on dragon only.
On the plus side, when later they merge the three shards after the initial rush has mellowed down, your character will be present in that single shard along with characters of players fro other shards.
My heart is bleeding, I do not know how to choose, Beholder is cool, Dragon is the first shard and who haven't been slayed by a Mindflayer... hard choise !

Mmh ... that's odd, I suddenly feel like choosing Mindflayer.
I put it to a guild vote. as long as the guild rolls there, the rest we can sort out later. It's too bad that guilds won't cross populate tho will make initial after launch recruitment difficult.
Well i was going to go Dragon... guess I can go to Beholder.
As long as skirmish/dungeon queues pull from all shards. They do pull from all shards correct?!?!

No, they do not. But again, the shards are a temporary thing; it won't be long after launch that they merge them. MMOs always have a massive falloff shortly after launch.

also if the community just chooses 1 shard, we'd help cryptic later on by not needing to merge the servers.
Pretty sure that's not how it works :P The point is so they can spread the population out to give the player base a more enjoyable and smooth experience when all the players hit the servers, glad to see a game put some effort into their server architecture for once at launch and then dial it back afterwards wish more company's would do it to avoid the usual server lag and crashing.
Plus the merger is going to be a pretty straightforward process, since they're practicing per-account name restriction and guild name restriction. They'll shut stuff down, then while the network guys are reconfiguring the servers to speak to the same cluster somebody will do something like "select from users where ( release=live and ! shard=mindflayer )" and change that shard value on all of them. It'll take a single query that will run far quicker than the server work, and the server work will be similar to what they have to do to add new servers anyway. More variables of course add more complexity, but the merger will be a pretty straightforward process for which they already have well-understood and tested plans.
edit: and yes, I know they don't use SQL, and I know that wasn't good SQL, it was pseudocode.

This is not an answer to my question.

My guild is going to Beholder, how can you resist them deep beautiful eyes?
they remind me of that plastic shipping stuff that you pop. makes it sound like fireworks.
