Neverwinter Foundry Tutorial - Part 1 - from www.nwugc.com

edited July 2013 in The Foundry
In this first video Tutorial we'll discuss starting up and the first Dialog between a player and an NPC.

We'll begin adding our plot, followed by putting our quest story board in point form in the private notes area to keep us on track. The main focus in this segment is working with the dialog tab and its options.

Since you have been working the Foundry...and I havent found a thread which gives concise information about it, I am going to pick your brain for a post or two.

Any level restrictions of adventures able to be made in the Foundry? Nothing below 10, above 55 or such? Or can end game quests be made?

Is there a max length/depth to a quest (i.e. you have 1000 points to create adventure...)?

Are quests solo only, or can you make group content?
    If group, how large?

Are you allowed to equip NPC mobs?

A: Not as such; the quests scale in difficulty based on level and number in your party.

Is there a max length/depth to a quest (i.e. you have 1000 points to create adventure...)?
A: there is more than the 1000 points, you are allow so many of certain object with in your quest. The high level quests have these numbers almost maxed out.

Are quests solo only, or can you make group content?
    If group, how large?

A: Max 5 people in your party, no group content as you probably are accustomed to but the difficulty of the mobs can be increased by the designer. If the quest has been designed with this in mind, most authors state this in their quest description.

Are you allowed to equip NPC mobs?
A: You can not equip npcs.

    Thanks!!

Could really use a sticky FAQ about the Foundry. seems to be tidbits scattered about, but no concise info.

    Great stuff - thanks much.

I'm looking forward to getting a chance to work in the Foundry. I enjoyed making scenarios in previous NWN and I'm excited to continue making content for the new era.

Only for providing accurate and logical data !

Its truly superb ! I downloaded every one of your videos and have them on my phone !

PS. I did a foundry quest in BW4 and had to save a blond haired "princess".

At the end of the foundry the princess I saved was a MALE....

Are we able to specify gender on some NPC's such as a "princess" rescue
or... were they just being funny?
    :P

The princess was the CM on forums - 'Sominator'

While the boss was Zebular, a community moderator.

    It was an inside joke.
