Hi all guys. At the very end i decided to roll a cw as my first char.
So i'd like to get some informations for rolling a good cw.
What kind of cw can be useful? I thought INT/WIS cw: INT for damage, WIS for cc.
I thought an INT /CHA cw could be nice too, but really don't know if i'll going to suck in cc without high WIS stat.

What do u think about it?

Ty everyone

I'm sort of having the same internal conflict myself, and I leveled one to 41.

Think of it this way: If you completely ignore a stat, meaning you roll low on it to begin with, and don't put any points into it, it will probably end up about 10 points lower than if you focused on it, meaning high roll + points (just an estimation, I don't know for sure exactly the range).

That would mean, if you ignore WIS entirely, you're losing out on 10% extra cc duration, which isn't TOO much, but it would probably be noticeable when you're chaining cc on mobs.

I think I rolled a 13 or something terrible on my WIS for my CW, but put points into it, and ended at 17, and I didn't exactly feel gimped in cc, but I also had the passive skill that buffed cc by 15%.

Personally, I know I want to pump CHA for my Renegade Paragon feat tree, but INT vs WIS is sort of bothering me.

The point is: WIS only grant duration bonus to cc or also to cd crowd control spell? I'D like to pump CHA too, but i don't want to roll a cw and realize at lvl 60 my cc doesn t work

About this, i could roll a full dps cw but, as the same name says, we are talking about a CONTROL wizard. What is the sense if it only is a dps class? Soon warlock will be released and that is a real dps class. So i Wanna be sure my cw makes his own. Cc everywhere and to be very useful in pvp. But......but, will be a plasure to pump INT/CHA and WIS if my cw makes his own as good as i hope

WIS does grant 1% skill recharge speed, but so does INT. And like I said, it would only be about a 10% difference in cc duration at level 60 if you completely ignore it, so it wouldn't be that it "doesn't work", it would be for every 1 second you can cc a mob, a WIS build would be able to cc it for 0.1sec longer.

As for your other post, INT/CHA build isn't trying to turn it into a DPS class, it's trying to get as much DPS as possible while CCing mobs. CC is great and all, but if you're not doing much damage with those CC spells, you're going to have a rough time leveling.

If you want to pump WIS, do it. It's not a bad choice. If you're trying to decide between INT or CHA to go with it, do CHA if you're going down the Renegade Paragon tree. If not, do INT.

I'll probably end up changing my perspective on this DPS vs CC debate a dozen times before OBT launches anyway.
