So I got the Guardian of Neverwinter pack, and played in the Beta weekend 4. I Knew I wanted to play the game, but I was not ready to commit to a $200 purchase, Well after this weekend there is no doubt in my mind that it's worth it. I would love to pay the difference and get the Hero of the North pack. If there is any way this is possible please let me know!

you just go where you got guardian pack and upgrade. The guardian tab is greyed out.. you can buy hero but you pay the $200 ON top of the $59 you already spent

I'm not paying $260 for it, if that's the case then I will just stay with $60 pack, but if they would allow me to pay the extra $140 to upgrade to it then I would be more than happy to.

You just buy them both, if you want to. They are separate packages, each with their own items included. I bought both, as well as several other people. If you buy both, the Astral Diamonds add together, you get both mounts, both companions, 4 extra character slots, et cetera.

Understandable. :( Trust me, i feel a bit insane for the amount of cash i've given to this game... just i love the idea so much.

Just wanted you to understand that they are separate packages. With most other game packages i've seen, you have a lower-priced package with a set of items, and a higher-priced package that include all of those items, plus more stuff. But for Neverwinter it's different, the packages are stand-alone. I was originally disappointed that i couldn't get the armored horse with the HotN pack, which is why i bought both.

If you want to change to the pack your purchased you should probably call customer support. I believe that some people reported being able to get refunds doing that so I would think they might be able to do an exchange. this is just a guess but its probable the best tactic to try.

I upgraded from the basic to the Guardian and support told me it works like this (from my PWE Support ticket):
Response Via Email (Support Staff 53)

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Perfect World Entertainment!

Currently, we do not have an upgrade option with our Neverwinter Founders' Packs. However, we do have an alternative option. Please proceed in purchasing the Guardian of Neverwinter Pack here: http://nw.perfectworld.com/founderspack

Once we have confirmed that your transaction has completed, and the product has been applied to your account, we can refund your initial purchase for the Neverwinter Starter Kit.

We look forward to your response.

You have to do it via the online ticket system (click support at the top of the page) or https://support.perfectworld.com/

You won't have the items from the Guardian pack any longer though, you'll only have the Hero of the North items, so it's not really an upgrade, it's a refund of the money you paid for the Guardian pack which you can then use with your other $140 to make a new purchase of the HotN pack.

I understand that, I would idealy like to buy them both, but sadly I don't have the funds to do so. :(

I keep thinking I want to upgrade to hero, but then I'm thinking... what is that extra $140 going to get me? Drow and a different mount/pet? ... I rather just spend it on Zen, get ~150,000 and live like a king

That's my thinking as well... I bought the Guardian and said to myself: "Hey, if there's something else I want beyond Guardian, I'll wait a month or so for Zen to settle and then check out my options".

Here's a little math from another thread that sort of helps put the cost into perspective:

Just the AD alone, if taking example of the exchange rate from the other games like STO I believe it was from, the exchange would be 200AD for 1Zen. So HotN pack getting 2,000,000 AD, when exchanged at the rate 200:1 Zen, it would be 10,000Zen, or $100, the horse about $40, for $140. Then the companion about $35 for $175 with the other items costing about $15 for $190 total to get everything.

That is everything you can put a price too. There were other things, like the VIP, Race, and special glow effects and stuff that you can't price and can't get anywhere else.

While it is NOT as high of a 'true value' as it says. Barely reaching the payed for price. It's still free things they are giving us for supporting them. we aren't buying them at a discount, we aren't buying them at all. They are rewards for donating that much money. They can easily take all those rewards away. They don't have to reward that much. But they did, and I thank them for that, but still no reason to complain over free stuff.

I'm not doubting your math at all, but there were other things, such as extra character slots, cosmetics, and bags. And as futrix mentioned, you get all of these things for each character (excluding the Starter Pack). So, just with HotN, you get 3 extra character slots. Using your math, minus the shared Astral Diamonds and mount, and not including the other extras that you didn't calculate in, that would be an additional $50 per each additional character, or $150, increasing your total to $340 worth of items, for a donation of $200. (Yes, i agree it's a donation, i donated $280 myself, for all three packs, just because i love the prospect of the game.)

Edit: Adjusted the math i added after realizing i missed something futrix said.
