Enabling the sparkling visual effect?

I can't seem to enable the sparkling visual effect for dropped loot/interactable items/newbie quest path. I just built a new box for gaming and it was never enabled since I've installed the game.

Anyone know how to turn it on?

Doesn't work. I don't even get the sparkling visual effect for treasure chests and doors that lead to other zones, so it is more than just the quest trail, I can't get anything to sparkle.

Also, fire isn't displaying at all. I can see the firewood in the campfires, but not the fire.

Not an ideal fix, but disabling ATi Crossfire solved the issue for me. Are you running two ATi graphics cards in Crossfire mode?

Nope, just a single nVidia 660.

Still having this issue in Open Beta: No sparkle or fire animations.

Anyone have a clue how to fix it?

The 'z' key worded, I have the sparkles back. The other issues... maybe re-downloading the game might help?
