I'm looking for a cool group of people to play Neverwinter with. I say Semi-Casual in the title because my life will not allow me to be as hardcore as I would like. I've been running guilds in MMOs for as long as I can remember and for once I just want to be a player.
I see Neverwinter as being less about hardcore progression and more about RP and the Foundary. I hope there will be some difficult content at the top end but I think our true challenges will be from really difficult Foundary adventures.
My play time is all over the place from one day to the next. I might be on playing at 2am one day and be playing in the middle of the afternoon the next. It all depends on my schedule and what I have going on.
What I'm looking for:
- I'm loud, tell bad jokes, and swear. If you are easily offended you don't want to even consider me for your guild.
- I would like a guild with a forum that people actually use. I can be very active on guild forums, especially if they are fun.
- Teamspeak or some kind of VOIP is a must. I like to talk to the people I am playing with.
- I've been playing AD&D since the late 80s and I love the lore. A bit of casual RP would be awesome.
What you get out of the deal:
- I have tanked everything. I'm really good at it.
- I've been a Guild Officer or Raid Leader since EQ1. I know how to follow directions and get stuff done.
- I'm 34 and a professional. I have no interest in drama or other BS. I just want to play a game and enjoy myself.
Apparently I also like to write walls of text about myself for guild recruitment purposes. If you think I might be a good fit for your guild reply or shoot me a PM.

Another option is to search forums for "recruiting" and again for "guild" to see the actively recruiting guilds.
I'm a member of Neverwinter Knights, myself - which was created specifically for Neverwinter (not a multi-game group) - I'd be happy to pass along any information about it - but I don;t want my reply to appear as a plea to sound like "ooh! ooh! Join us! Join us!" - because that's not what I want.
In the end it's up to you and the end goal is whatever satisfies *you*.
One suggestion, though: wait until launch, play the game. Then you'll see who is most active while you're online at whatever times you are active yourself. Then shop those you see there.
OH! And one more thing: don't try to sell yourself. Seriously. They need you a lot more than you need them. If they make you try to sell yourself or "justify" why they should "allow" you to join them: walk the other way. They are full of them-elitist-selves and aren;t worth the effort.
Really. You are looking for like-minded *friends*, not some elitist clique (at least that's what I hope for you).

I certainly wouldn't think your reply is of the "JOIN ME! JOIN ME!" variety. You give some very good advice when it comes to looking for a guild. I'll admit that I have no idea how to look for a guild. Like I said above, I'm always the one doing the recruiting. Being on the other side of the game is kind of fun.
I've had enough of the elitist clique attitude which is why I think I posted this to start with. Recruiting posts can be thought up before hand and are intentionally made to showcase the best qualities of the guild. How people respond to these LFG threads can be much more telling.
I thought about waiting for launch but I would prefer to find something before that. Lots of guilds play multiple games and I always have the option to check them out in another game before making any real decisions.

Personally loved the wall of text, and I think you would fit right in with us.
Allegiant gaming is a multi game community. We currently officially support LoL, Minecraft, Defiance, and now we are officially supporting Neverwinter, and have quite the group coming together. We formed in 2003, and have been heavily involved in end game progression, and competitive groups within shooters. We find ourselves newly setup and concentrated on the community more then the progression and competition. Don't get me wrong these are things we go for, but not at the cost of our lives. If you are interested in being competitive, but staying sane then check us out here www.AllegiantGaming.com
