Just watched this video and got chills from the sheer awesomeness. :D

How do you envision your Rogue? Post a video or artwork, or write up a little back story if you feel so inspired. I'm double posting this here in the Theives' Den and in the Art and Fiction section.

Bonus points to any who insert the in-game background options!

I envision my rogue just like every other rogue in the game. We all have the same weapons/stats/abilities. We are legion, we have no self-thought, we are hive-mind, Cryptic...Cryptic...

Honestly, I've always had fun with rogue-ish characters - I always try to make them different without destroying what makes them rogues.

Thus, my rogue - if I ever decide to RP... Might be fun, now that I think about it - will be a sort of "balance is everything" type - shadow is just as important as light, and yet far more feared - even reviled - than light, thus he sides with the darkness just to maintain that ever-fragile balance.

Considering it is entirely possible to fight battles without ever leaving stealth, I think it fits quite well, the concept of a character who prefers subtle combat due to a pact with darkness, rather than any sort of personal trait... Now I just need to figure out the best race for such a character - I suppose Drow, but I'm not sure I'm committed to the theme enough to wait a couple of months - at least - just to play.

I'm not a big rogue guy.
I will mess around with TR for a bit but more than likely will delete him when a ranger of some type is released.

I generally prefer Clerics but will probably default to the wizard classes depending on how Cleric self-heals pan out.
That said I am a huge altaholic and end up playing everything eventually.

My main will be a 2 weapon ranger whenever they come around. Originally he was going to be a TR, and while I love the class it just didn't seem like him. So now my rogue will be a menzogade, since I feel that if I don't make one after getting the HotN pack, the drow fans will come hunt me down and hurt me in my sleep

So my TR will be a nearly feral drow who was probably raised by her panther or something :D

FMVs don't get me excited unless they are at least an hour and a half long and released in theaters.

You're right, he is a great mini. I use him for my swashbuckler when I play PnP with my brephew on the weekends. His name is "Miguel the HAMSTER Blade". Google it and you'll find plenty of places to buy him from. :)

Aha, I've heard of the line, the last picture of Miguel was unpainted, no wonder I didn't recognize it. Very good paint job .

Cool concept! Best race for it IMO: Tiefling. The whole "pact with darkness" fits perfectly with their devil/demonic heritage. Could be a pact with your progenitor, some sort of shadow demon? Just thoughts.

Not a bad idea. Plus, that comes with the bonus of some pretty decent rogue racial abilities.

Definitely half ork rogue daughter of a priestess. I haven't figured out which deity or how that affects her background yet. There's too many options!

Drow Trickster, Chaotic Neutral outlook, he will do what he wants, when he wants, to whom he wants.

Lullellen Moonshade (Lull for short and it's easier to yell when she pisses you off)

As the only child of a Paladin and Thief/Cleric, she grew up hearing stories of her parents adventures so was it any surprise that she'd want them for herself? She's no aptitude for magic but had the natural agility and intelligence to work her way in or out of anywhere she shouldn't be. Her father recognized her skills early on since he shared them but her mother tried to 'mold' Lull into a 'lady.' It was a dismal failure. It took some doing but Lull finally convinced her mother that she had to right to choose her own path. That above anything else showed her prowess of wit.

So with a begrudged parental consent Lull went to make her way and what better place to start but in the teaming metropolis that was Neverwinter. While she sported a finely crafted set of blades her truest weapon of all was her mind. She could out talk, outwit, and out maneuver most anyone though at times that would lead into the very troubles from which she'd have to escape. She has a ready smile and finds the laughter in almost everything. Lastly, once she's your friend, she's your friend to the end and beyond. That being said, if you're being chased by an angry mob or maybe she pushed a button she shouldn't have....you'd best be able to keep up.

Two things you don't want to hear her say: 1) oops and 2) Fine, we'll do it your way.
